Robert Morris Colonials vs Ill.-Chicago Flames prediction: UIC wins, spread a pass

Game time: November 6, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET

Venue: Credit Union 1 Arena — Chicago, IL

Article updated Nov 5, 11:37 PM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Ill.-Chicago Flames will beat the Robert Morris Colonials, with a projected score of UIC 76, Robert Morris 67. The strongest matchup reason is UIC’s turnover production in its opener against a Colonials offense that struggled to protect the ball at Nevada. That favors the home team, but neither UIC -10.5 (-115) nor the 143.5 total offers a persuasive wager.

Robert Morris Colonials vs Ill.-Chicago Flames prediction and best bet

UIC is the winner pick, but the official betting recommendation is Pass. The Flames’ opening performance gives them the more encouraging starting point, particularly defensively. Turning that advantage into a win is a smaller ask than covering a double-digit spread.

The distinction matters here. Both accepted outside forecasts favor UIC, yet their projected margins fall on opposite sides of 10.5. Our nine-point projection reflects a favorable matchup for the Flames while allowing for uncertainty after one game apiece. Confidence in that forecast is low.

Robert Morris Colonials outlook

Robert Morris opened with an 86-49 loss at Nevada. According to the university’s matchup preview, the Colonials shot 26.5% overall and 16.7% from three while committing 19 turnovers. Ball security and shotmaking both need improvement; fixing just one would leave the offense vulnerable to another difficult night.

KJ Garris Jr. supplied 16 points and seven rebounds, while Ta'Zir Smith scored nine. Garris’ contribution offers an individual positive from an otherwise poor offensive result. The question for this forecast is how much improvement the Colonials can produce immediately, rather than whether their opening percentages represent their season-long level.

Robert Morris also won the most recent meeting, 88-74 on Nov. 26, 2025. Darius Livingston had 10 points and six rebounds. That result is useful historical context, although it cannot substitute for assessing this season’s matchup.

Ill.-Chicago Flames outlook

UIC began with a 96-47 victory over St. Francis (Ill.). Mekhi Lowery scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Rashun Washington Jr. added 15 points, and Jayce Nathaniel finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The scoring distribution is encouraging, with several players contributing to the opening win.

The Flames shot 58% and won the rebounding battle 40-21. Those are strong results against that opponent, but projecting the same efficiency or rebounding margin against Robert Morris would be too aggressive. The opener shows what worked once, rather than a settled baseline.

There was optimism before that performance, too. UIC was selected third in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll with 466 points and six first-place votes. That adds context to the winner pick without supplying a precise expected margin.

Key matchup factors

Possession security is the central matchup issue. UIC forced 22 turnovers, recorded 15 steals and scored 35 points off turnovers against St. Francis. If Robert Morris remains loose with the ball, the Flames have a plausible route to scoring without relying entirely on their shooting. The unresolved question is how well that defensive production carries into this game.

The outside analysts agree on UIC winning but differ materially on the size of its advantage. Dimers projects UIC 77, Robert Morris 66 and assigns the Flames an 86.2% win probability. Bandwagon projects UIC 76, Robert Morris 70, with a 66% win chance and a model spread of UIC -5.5. Those are separate model opinions, not SportsJaw probabilities.

SportsJaw’s community spread leader was Ill.-Chicago -10.5 (-115), with 100% support in the Nov. 5, 2026, 17:31 UTC update. That describes member preference. It is neither a win probability nor proof that the favorite is worth backing at this price.

Robert Morris Colonials vs Ill.-Chicago Flames spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Ill.-Chicago -10.5 (-115) and Robert Morris +10.5 (-105). Our projected nine-point margin falls short of a UIC cover, but the cushion toward Robert Morris is too narrow for an official underdog wager.

Dimers’ 11-point projection barely clears the favorite’s number, while Bandwagon’s six-point score margin favors taking the points. UIC’s opening turnover production is the strongest argument for a wider victory. With only one current-season result for each team, that possibility is not enough to justify laying 10.5, and Robert Morris’ offensive struggles make the opposite side uncomfortable.

Robert Morris Colonials vs Ill.-Chicago Flames total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 143.5 (-110) and Under 143.5 (-110). Our projection totals 143 points, just half a point below the line. That is too small a difference to warrant an Under recommendation.

The other forecasts straddle the total: Dimers projects 143 combined points, while Bandwagon projects 146. Turnover-created scoring could help the Over, but another poor shooting performance from Robert Morris could favor the Under. Neither direction has a convincing advantage at the supplied price.

Robert Morris Colonials vs Ill.-Chicago Flames Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Ill.-Chicago Flames 76, Robert Morris Colonials 67. UIC’s opening defensive production against Robert Morris’ ball-security problems drives the selection. The strongest counterargument is that the teams faced different opponents, making the contrast between their opening results an uncertain guide to Friday’s margin.

Confidence: low. The Flames are the projected winner, but neither the spread nor total earns a bet. Official SportsJaw wager: Pass.
