Columbus Blue Jackets vs St. Louis Blues Predictions Today

Game time: October 10, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET

Venue: Enterprise Center — St. Louis, MO

Article updated Oct 10, 10:14 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Columbus Blue Jackets are projected to beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2, with Friday's sustained shooting pressure providing the strongest reason to favor the visitors. Columbus faces a quick turnaround against an effective early-season penalty kill, keeping confidence low. Neither Columbus +1.5 (-232) nor the total of 6 offers a convincing betting edge. The official SportsJaw wager is Pass.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs St. Louis Blues prediction and best bet

Columbus gets the narrow nod after forcing Pittsburgh goaltender Sergei Murashov to make 43 saves Friday. That workload gives the Blue Jackets a persuasive recent attacking performance to build on, although one game is a fragile foundation for judging how these teams compare.

The forecast is Columbus Blue Jackets 3, St. Louis Blues 2. The best betting decision is Pass. Columbus must reproduce its pressure on the second night of a back-to-back, while St. Louis brings a strong penalty kill. That combination leaves too much uncertainty to turn a slight preference for Columbus into an official wager.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Game: Columbus Blue Jackets at St. Louis Blues, NHL, 2026-27 season. Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 6 p.m. CT.

Venue: Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Broadcast: The Blues' October 10 preview lists Blue Note+ for television and 101 ESPN for radio.

SportsJaw moneyline: Columbus +110; St. Louis -130.

SportsJaw puck line: Columbus +1.5 (-232); St. Louis -1.5 (+196).

SportsJaw total: Over 6 (-104); Under 6 (-111). These are the prices used for the recommendations below.

Columbus Blue Jackets outlook

Columbus improved to 2-1-0 with Friday's 3-2 shootout victory over Pittsburgh at Nationwide Arena. Murashov's 43 saves included 23 in the second period. The important distinction is that those were saves, not Columbus' total shots. The performance makes shot creation the strongest part of the Blue Jackets' case, even though the game still required a shootout.

Damon Severson contributed a goal and an assist in his season debut after missing the first two games while recovering from April 2 shoulder surgery. Mathieu Olivier scored, Cole Sillinger supplied two assists, and Kent Johnson delivered Columbus' only shootout goal. Severson's immediate contribution is encouraging without making another multipoint game part of this forecast.

Charlie Coyle entered Saturday with three assists through three games and had seven shots against Pittsburgh. He had been centering Sillinger and Olivier. Cam Talbot made 20 saves and denied all three Pittsburgh shootout attempts in his Columbus debut; that performance describes Friday's result, without identifying Saturday's starter.

St. Louis Blues outlook

St. Louis lost 3-2 in overtime to San Jose on Thursday, recording 26 shots and 12 blocked shots. Joel Hofer stopped 24 of 27 shots. The Blues earned their first home point of the season, but the attacking output leaves room for improvement against a Columbus team coming off a busy offensive night.

The penalty kill is the clearest early strength. St. Louis killed all four San Jose power plays and entered this matchup 13-for-14 for the season. That 92.9 percent mark ranked third in the NHL. It is an encouraging start, though four games are too few to treat that rate as a dependable season-long standard.

Connor McMichael leads the Blues with four points, split between two goals and two assists, and has scored in consecutive games. Mason McTavish has 13 shots and McMichael has 10, the club's top two totals cited in its preview. Dillon Dube was doubtful while being evaluated for a possible neck injury after Friday's practice, leaving uncertainty over his availability.

Key matchup factors

The schedule is the strongest counterweight to Columbus' shooting performance. The Blue Jackets played Friday in Columbus and now face St. Louis on Saturday; the Blues last played Thursday. That makes sustaining pressure the key test for the visitors. A productive second period against Pittsburgh is encouraging, but it is no guarantee of the same output here.

Special teams could also narrow Columbus' advantage. St. Louis' penalty kill gives the home side a credible response if it takes penalties. Its success while shorthanded should not be mistaken for proof that it will contain Columbus at even strength, where this matchup remains harder to judge.

At the October 10 update around 14:04 UTC, the blended moneyline consensus favored Columbus at 52 percent. SportsJaw member picks favored Columbus at 100 percent in their latest update, while the separate sportsbook split favored St. Louis at 60 percent. Those are different measures of support, not win probabilities. Their disagreement fits a cautious forecast.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs St. Louis Blues spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Columbus Blue Jackets +1.5 (-232) and St. Louis Blues -1.5 (+196). The projected Columbus victory naturally favors the visitors with a goal and a half, but -232 demands substantial confidence in that protection. A road back-to-back makes that confidence difficult to justify.

The blended spread consensus favors Columbus at 89 percent, but its quoted price is -245, distinct from the supplied SportsJaw price of -232. Popularity alone does not make either price attractive. St. Louis -1.5 (+196) offers a larger return, yet the case for a multiple-goal home victory is weaker than the case for a close game.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs St. Louis Blues total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 6 (-104) and Under 6 (-111). The five-goal projection points toward Under, with St. Louis' penalty kill helping that argument. Columbus' shooting pressure supplies the counterargument: another performance that keeps the opposing goaltender busy could push scoring above this forecast.

The blended total consensus favors Over at 62 percent, despite a 13-percentage-point shift toward Under since the October 9 snapshot. That movement describes betting support rather than a scoring projection. Neither the early penalty-kill results nor one high-volume Columbus game gives a sufficiently firm read to endorse a side at 6.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs St. Louis Blues projected score

Game forecast: Columbus Blue Jackets 3, St. Louis Blues 2. Columbus' recent shot creation and contributions from several players earn the narrow preference. The strongest counterargument is its second game in two nights against a home team with an effective early penalty kill.

Confidence: Low. The official SportsJaw wager is Pass. The projected winner remains Columbus, while both puck lines and both sides of the total remain passes at the supplied prices.
