Giants vs. Rams: Injury Questions Make Monday Night a Pass
Los Angeles is a seven-point favorite, but New York's productive opener and personnel concerns on both teams leave the side and total unresolved.
One week offers an incomplete picture
The New York Giants visit the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Monday, September 21, for Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET. New York opened with a 28-20 victory over Dallas; Los Angeles lost 27-7 to San Francisco in Australia.
Jaxson Dart gave the Giants an encouraging start, completing 79.3% of his passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns with a 134.2 passer rating. He also gained 59 rushing yards before kneel-downs. Those numbers support respect for New York's offense, but one game does not establish how it will perform against this Rams defense.
Availability cuts both ways
Aaron Donald said he plans to make his season debut against the Giants after participating in 11-on-11 work during the week. His anticipated availability adds a concern for New York, with tackle Andrew Thomas limited Thursday and Friday by an ankle injury. Donald's stated plan does not establish his eventual workload.
Los Angeles will be without Myles Garrett, who is on injured reserve after knee surgery and will miss at least four games beginning Monday. Puka Nacua, Jordan Whittington and Kamren Kinchens did not practice Friday. Davante Adams returned to full participation after resting Thursday.
The Giants have their own secondary concerns: Paulson Adebo was listed with a knee issue and an IR designation, while Deonte Banks missed Friday's practice with a calf injury after being limited Thursday. The practice reports leave meaningful uncertainty; they do not establish that every non-participant will miss the game.
