Green Bay Packers vs New England Patriots prediction, odds and Week 9 betting outlook

Game time: November 8, 2026 at 4:25 PM ET

Venue: Gillette Stadium — Foxborough, MA

Article updated Nov 3, 2:21 PM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The New England Patriots will beat the Green Bay Packers 24-23 in our forecast, with Drake Maye’s five-game streak of at least three total touchdowns supplying the strongest reason to favor New England. The margin is thin, and neither Green Bay +3 (-117) nor the 46.5 total offers a persuasive betting edge. The official SportsJaw recommendation is Pass.

Green Bay Packers vs New England Patriots prediction and best bet

New England gets the nod because Maye’s recent scoring production gives the Patriots a concrete offensive reason to expect another win. The official Patriots preview documents his touchdown streak and a chance for New England to reach 4-0 at home. Our forecast is Patriots 24, Packers 23, with low confidence.

Best bet: Pass. Picking a close finish is not enough to make Green Bay +3 (-117) a worthwhile wager. Both teams enter 5-3, and the outside forecasts disagree on the winner. The distinction matters here: New England is our selection to win, but neither spread price earns an official recommendation.

Green Bay Packers outlook

Green Bay beat Carolina 27-19 in Week 8, according to Vegas Insider, covering as a 3.5-point home favorite. That result gives the Packers a recent win with more separation than the three points they receive here, although one game against a different opponent is a limited guide to this matchup.

DK Network’s November 3 injury update lists guard Sean Rhyan out with a high ankle sprain. Receiver Christian Watson is TBD with a ribs fracture, and linebacker Zaire Franklin is TBD with a hairline shin fracture. Rhyan’s absence is confirmed in that report; Watson and Franklin should remain uncertain in the forecast.

CBS Sports writer John Breech predicts a Packers 23-20 victory, arguing that Green Bay’s defense and his concerns about Maye against winning opponents favor an upset. That is Breech’s assessment. It supplies a competing interpretation without turning Green Bay’s defensive strength into an independently established premise of our pick.

New England Patriots outlook

New England recovered from a 13-3 halftime deficit to beat Miami 24-19 in Week 8, per Vegas Insider. The comeback extended the winning streak, but the early deficit is a reminder that recent wins have not all followed a comfortable script.

The official Patriots preview credits Maye with 43-yard and 48-yard touchdown passes against Miami. It also reports 14 touchdown passes of at least 30 yards over the past two seasons, the NFL’s highest total in that span. Those explosive scoring plays are the clearest factual foundation for favoring New England.

Availability could complicate that outlook. DK Network lists receiver A.J. Brown as TBD with knee and ankle issues, tight end Hunter Henry as TBD with a foot issue, and running back TreVeyon Henderson as TBD with an illness. Linebacker Gabe Jacas is also TBD with a knee issue. Those designations leave meaningful personnel questions without confirming additional absences.

Key matchup factors

The central question is whether Maye’s scoring run translates into enough separation to overcome Green Bay’s three-point cushion. His recent production favors a Patriots victory in our judgment; New England’s three consecutive non-covers caution against treating winning form as evidence of spread value.

Other analysts remain divided. Stats Insider’s 10,000-simulation model projects Patriots 24, Packers 22 and assigns New England a 59% win probability. Sportsbook Review’s Mike Spector also selects New England on the moneyline, with three-star confidence. Breech takes Green Bay. Those are separate forecasts, not a vote that guarantees an edge.

The November 3 SportsJaw consensus update shows blended support of 70% for New England -150 and 57% for Green Bay +3 (-117). Packers spread support increased eight percentage points from November 2. These selection shares describe betting preferences, not win probabilities or a separately reported SportsJaw member majority.

Green Bay Packers vs New England Patriots spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Green Bay Packers +3 (-117) and New England Patriots -3 (-103). Our one-point forecast falls on the Packers’ side, but that projected margin is too fragile to justify paying -117.

Stats Insider rates both sides as 50-50 to cover. That model view offers no encouragement to pay either supplied price, while the Patriots’ recent non-covers and Green Bay’s consensus support are insufficient on their own. Taking three points has an understandable appeal; an official wager needs more than an appealing score scenario.

Green Bay Packers vs New England Patriots total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 46.5 (-110) and Under 46.5 (-104). Our projected 47 points sit only half a point above the total, leaving very little room for error.

Maye’s explosive touchdowns favor the higher-scoring case, while unresolved offensive availability adds uncertainty. The blended consensus favors Over 46.5 at 57%, but Stats Insider rates the total 50-50. Neither preference supplies a sufficiently strong reason to back the Over, and the injury designations alone are not a sound Under argument.

Green Bay Packers vs New England Patriots Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: New England Patriots 24, Green Bay Packers 23. Maye’s documented touchdown production narrowly tips the matchup toward New England.

The strongest counterargument is the combination of New England’s uncertain offensive personnel and a Packers team coming off an eight-point win. Breech’s outright upset pick reinforces the disagreement among analysts. Confidence is low. Official SportsJaw wager: Pass, with both the spread and total also passes.
