Cleveland Browns vs New Orleans Saints Prediction, Odds and Best Bet for Week 9

Game time: November 8, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET

Venue: Caesars Superdome — New Orleans, LA

Article updated Nov 3, 11:52 PM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The New Orleans Saints will beat the Cleveland Browns 23-20 in our November 8 forecast. Cleveland’s protection trouble, including eight sacks allowed in its latest loss, gives New Orleans the narrow advantage, although the Saints’ vulnerable run defense offers Cleveland a response. Neither Saints -1.5 (-110) nor the total of 43 (-110) offers a strong enough case for an official wager.

Cleveland Browns vs New Orleans Saints prediction and best bet

Our prediction is Saints 23, Browns 20, with low confidence and an official betting recommendation of Pass. Cleveland’s touchdown-free loss at Pittsburgh makes it difficult to trust an immediate offensive recovery, but New Orleans has substantial problems of its own.

The Browns’ official November 2 report documented both their protection breakdown and a season-low rushing performance. Those weaknesses tilt our forecast toward the Saints. However, New Orleans’ struggles defending the run give Cleveland a plausible route to controlling the game. A narrow projected win is not enough by itself to justify laying points.

Cleveland Browns outlook

Cleveland’s rushing attack averaged 97.6 yards through eight games, ranking 24th in the NFL, according to the club’s November 2 report. Against Pittsburgh, the Browns managed just 34 net rushing yards, with Quinshon Judkins gaining 25 on 11 carries. Judkins remains the first-string running back on the unofficial depth chart.

The eight sacks allowed against Pittsburgh tied Cleveland’s season high. Establishing a workable running game would offer another way to advance the ball, but this forecast cannot assume that one favorable defensive matchup will repair the protection.

Harold Fannin Jr. supplies the strongest recent positive. His 10 catches and 154 receiving yards against Pittsburgh were career highs. Through eight games, he led Cleveland with 35 receptions and 411 yards. That production gives the Browns a receiving threat even after a game in which they failed to score a touchdown.

New Orleans Saints outlook

New Orleans is trying to repair a rushing attack that ranked 28th at 86 yards per game entering this matchup. The Saints gained 18 yards on 17 carries against Pittsburgh in Paris on October 25, although their official report also highlighted earlier rushing totals of 148 against Las Vegas and 175 against the Giants.

Coach Kellen Moore dismissed run-game coordinator T.J. Paganetti on November 2. Offensive line coach Brendan Nugent took responsibility for weekly run-game structure, with running backs coach Joel Thomas retaining his situational role. The change signals a response to poor production; it is not evidence that production will improve immediately.

The Saints also said injured-reserve players Jordyn Tyson, Travis Etienne Jr. and Kelvin Banks Jr. could possibly practice that week. Their availability remained undetermined, so our forecast assumes no confirmed boost from their returns.

Key matchup factors

The most favorable statistical matchup for Cleveland is New Orleans’ run defense. The Browns’ team report lists the Saints as allowing 139.4 rushing yards per game, fourth most in the league. The question is whether Cleveland’s struggling ground game can take advantage consistently enough to offset its recent protection problems.

Other analysts favor New Orleans for different reasons. NBC Sports selected Saints -2.5, emphasizing its assessment of the passing and third-down matchup. Sports Illustrated’s Ryan Gilbert also selected Saints -2.5, citing rest and concerns about Cleveland’s recent performances. Those are their analytical judgments, not additional proof that the Saints will cover.

Luck Adjusted projects New Orleans by 2.6 points with a 58% win probability. Its breakdown includes a 2.3-point home-field contribution, while its season-adjusted component favors Cleveland by 0.8 points. That split makes the model’s Saints preference more qualified than three matching winner selections might suggest.

Cleveland Browns vs New Orleans Saints spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on New Orleans -1.5 (-110) and Cleveland +1.5 (-110). Our projected three-point Saints win clears the favorite’s spread, but the uncertain offensive response from both teams leaves too little conviction to make it an official wager.

The supplied Saints price requires a smaller winning margin than the -2.5 selections published by NBC Sports and Sports Illustrated. There is disagreement, however: the November 4 SportsJaw blended spread consensus favors Cleveland +1.5 at 58%, up three percentage points from the November 2 snapshot. The blended moneyline consensus favors New Orleans -118 at 62%. These measure selection preferences in separate markets, not win probabilities.

Cleveland Browns vs New Orleans Saints total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 43 (-110) and Under 43 (-110). NBC Sports leans Over 43.5, while the SportsJaw blended total consensus favors Over 43 at 66%. Its estimated combined sample represents 396 Over selections out of 600, not observed sportsbook tickets or a standalone member-pick count.

Cleveland’s recent failure to score a touchdown and New Orleans’ rushing difficulties temper that Over preference. Conversely, the Saints’ run-defense numbers and Fannin’s recent receiving production offer paths to more offense. Our projection totals exactly 43 points, leaving neither direction with a persuasive margin.

Cleveland Browns vs New Orleans Saints Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Saints 23, Browns 20. Cleveland’s recent protection failure tips a close call toward New Orleans, consistent with the outside forecasts. The strongest counterargument is Cleveland exploiting the Saints’ run defense while continuing to get production from Fannin.

Confidence is low because the Saints’ own offensive problems make that advantage fragile. New Orleans is our projected winner; the spread and total are separate passes. Official SportsJaw betting lean: Pass.
