Washington Commanders vs New York Giants prediction, odds and best bet for Nov. 12

Game time: November 12, 2026 at 8:15 PM ET

Venue: MetLife Stadium — East Rutherford, NJ

Article updated Nov 6, 1:42 AM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The New York Giants will beat the Washington Commanders, 24-23, in our November 12 forecast. Washington’s injuries at defensive tackle give New York’s running game the strongest matchup opportunity, although the Giants have backfield concerns themselves. The edge is slight: neither Washington +1.5 (-110) nor New York -1.5 (-110) offers a convincing wager, and the 45.5 total is also a Pass.

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants prediction and best bet

New York is the pick to win, but the official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass. Washington’s depleted interior defensive line creates an opening for the Giants, whose October 25 rushing performance offers an encouraging example of what their offense can produce.

Our Giants 24, Commanders 23 forecast reflects a slight advantage, with low confidence. Football Sports News also projects that score and assigns New York a 53% win probability. That is another analyst’s model assessment, not our measured probability or a promise that this game will finish within one point.

A projected Washington cover is not automatically a profitable Washington bet. The narrow forecast makes taking the points tempting, but neither the team reporting nor the outside projection supplies a persuasive estimate of how often the Commanders cover +1.5.

Washington Commanders outlook

Washington’s November 4 report put its run defense at fewer than 100 yards allowed per game and 12th in the league. That baseline deserves weight: the Giants are not facing a unit whose reported results alone suggest an easy rushing matchup.

The personnel picture has changed, however. Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw were placed on injured reserve, with coach Dan Quinn describing both as likely out for the season. Washington identified Shy Tuttle and Tim Settle as the tackles expected to take on larger roles. Whether they can preserve the defense’s previous production is central to this forecast.

The offensive backfield also has losses. Washington reported Jacory Croskey-Merritt on injured reserve until at least Week 12 and Jeremy McNichols out for the season. Robert Henry Jr. joined the active roster through a November 5 waiver claim, with Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler ahead of him in the team’s reported pecking order. The addition offers depth, but assigning Henry a meaningful role against New York would be speculation.

New York Giants outlook

The Giants’ November 4 account looked back to a 27-21 overtime victory over Houston on October 25 before their bye. In his first Giants start, J.J. McCarthy completed 20 of 28 passes for 252 yards and a 99.1 passer rating. That performance is a positive reference point, although one start is a limited sample.

New York also rushed 34 times for 188 yards and four touchdowns against Houston, which the team described as its best rushing performance of the season. Those results explain the appeal of testing Washington inside. They should not be treated as an established weekly level of production.

The Giants have their own availability concerns. Tyrone Tracy Jr. had been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, and Cam Skattebo was nursing an injury sustained late in the Houston victory. Those reports temper enthusiasm about the running game; they do not settle New York’s November 12 workload distribution or Skattebo’s game status.

Key matchup factors

The decisive question is how much Washington’s defensive-line losses change its effectiveness against the run. Our forecast gives New York a small advantage there, while respecting Washington’s reported defensive baseline and the uncertainty surrounding the Giants’ backs.

Football Sports News weighs the matchup differently in some respects. Its explanation credits New York with a 1.5-point home-field factor and a 1.4-point opponent-adjusted strength advantage, but assigns non-quarterback injury impact 1.1 points toward Washington. That injury assessment cautions against treating Washington’s absences as the entire personnel story.

The November 6 SportsJaw consensus update, timestamped 06:32 UTC, shows New York -1.5 (-110) leading the blended spread measure at 77%. Its modeled equivalent sample allocates 462 of 600 selections to New York. Those are estimated selection counts, not observed sportsbook tickets or a count of SportsJaw member picks. The 77% measures selection support, not New York’s probability of winning or covering.

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Washington +1.5 (-110) and New York -1.5 (-110).

Our one-point Giants forecast lands on Washington’s side of the spread, while the blended consensus favors New York laying the points. That difference matters, but neither a single projected score nor the popularity of a selection tells us enough about its value at -110.

New York’s potential rushing advantage supports the outright pick. Washington’s defensive baseline and New York’s backfield questions keep the expected separation small. With credible reasons for a close game but no convincing cover-probability advantage, neither spread earns an official wager.

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 45.5 (-108) and Under 45.5 (-113).

The projected score adds to 47 points, placing the forecast above the total. Washington’s interior injuries offer one route to productive New York possessions, but the Giants’ backfield concerns pull against assuming another strong rushing performance.

The 1.5-point gap between the forecast and the total is too fragile to justify the Over on this evidence. Nor is there a sufficiently strong scoring-suppression argument for the Under. A score projection remains useful without becoming a total wager.

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: New York Giants 24, Washington Commanders 23. The opportunity against Washington’s replacement defensive tackles tips the decision toward New York. The strongest counterargument is that Washington’s reported run defense was effective, while injuries could limit the Giants’ ability to exploit that opening.

Confidence is low because the edge depends on uncertain personnel effects and a limited recent performance sample. New York is the projected winner; both the spread and total recommendations are Pass. The single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
