Los Angeles Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks Predictions October 4, 2026

Game time: October 4, 2026 at 4:25 PM ET

Venue: Lumen Field — Seattle, WA

The Seattle Seahawks will beat the Los Angeles Chargers, Seahawks 24, Chargers 16, in this low-confidence forecast. The strongest reason is Los Angeles' offense, which ranks 28th in EPA per play through three games. Seattle's personnel concerns and the Chargers' disruptive defense temper that advantage. Neither Seahawks -7 (-110) nor the total of 43 offers a strong enough case for an official wager.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks prediction and best bet

Seattle gets the nod because Los Angeles has struggled to turn possessions into scoring. Justin Herbert has three touchdown passes against four interceptions through three games, and the Chargers lost at Buffalo even after their defense forced five turnovers. Another uneven offensive performance would leave Los Angeles with a difficult route to victory.

The best betting decision is Pass. Seattle's right guard injury brings a protection concern against a defense coming off four sacks, while the Chargers' offensive struggles make backing the underdog uncomfortable. The forecast favors Seattle by eight points, but that narrow difference from the seven-point spread is too fragile to justify a bet.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Game: Los Angeles Chargers at Seattle Seahawks, Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season, Sunday, October 4.

Kickoff: 1:25 p.m. Pacific, according to the Chargers' September 28 matchup report.

Record and schedule: Los Angeles enters 0-3 and faces its second consecutive road game.

SportsJaw spread: Chargers +7 (-108); Seahawks -7 (-110).

SportsJaw moneyline: Chargers +265; Seahawks -330.

SportsJaw total: Over 43 (-110); Under 43 (-110). These are the prices used for the betting decisions below.

Los Angeles Chargers outlook

Los Angeles' September 27 loss at Buffalo illustrates the problem. The Chargers led 10-0 but scored just six points across the final three quarters and lost 24-16. Buffalo outscored them 14-3 in the fourth quarter. An early advantage and repeated defensive stops were insufficient to carry Los Angeles through the finish.

There was substantial defensive encouragement. The Chargers forced five turnovers and sacked Josh Allen four times. Tuli Tuipulotu recorded 1.5 sacks, while Khalil Mack and Akheem Mesidor each recorded one. Rookie safety Genesis Smith intercepted two passes. Those individual contributions give Los Angeles several potential sources of a possession-changing play.

Buffalo entered that game leading the NFL in offensive EPA per play at 0.337. Los Angeles held it to minus-0.016 in the game, a meaningful result against that opponent. Reproducing the pressure would give the Chargers a chance in Seattle, even without another five-takeaway afternoon.

The offensive baseline is less encouraging. Herbert has 627 passing yards, and Los Angeles ranks 28th in offensive EPA per play at minus-0.137 and 20th in success rate at 46.3 percent. Through three games, that combination leaves the defense carrying too much of the argument for a Chargers win.

Seattle Seahawks outlook

Seattle's strongest advantage in this forecast is the opponent's offensive difficulty. The Seahawks can win if Los Angeles again struggles to sustain productive possessions. Still, Seattle needs its own scoring contribution, and the injuries warrant restraint when projecting how comfortably it can pull away.

The September 23 Seahawks report confirms that Zach Charbonnet cannot return to game action until after this matchup. The running back is on the physically unable to perform list following an ACL injury. His absence removes him from Seattle's options against the Chargers; it does not, by itself, tell us how the remaining backs will perform.

Starting right guard Anthony Bradford had also been placed on injured reserve, with an absence of at least four games. That creates a specific concern against Los Angeles' pressure. The Chargers' sack production at Buffalo makes protection an important matchup question, although those sacks should not all be attributed to an interior rush.

Safety Nick Emmanwori made his 2026 debut in Week 2 after ankle surgery before camp, playing nine defensive snaps. That dated appearance offers limited insight into his role for this game. Seattle remains the projected winner, but these personnel details offer more reason for caution than for forecasting a comfortable margin.

Key matchup factors

Possession quality matters more here than simply counting opportunities. Los Angeles created five takeaways at Buffalo and still finished with 16 points. For the Chargers to overturn this forecast, defensive disruption must be accompanied by better offensive execution. For Seattle, protecting possessions would reduce the underdog's opportunities to compensate for its offensive struggles.

The September 29 consensus snapshot favors Seattle -7 at 79 percent and Seattle -330 at 84 percent. The moneyline share rose two percentage points from September 28. These are blended consensus percentages, not win probabilities or qualified-handicapper picks. The accompanying counts incorporate a modeled sportsbook sample, so they should not be read as observed sportsbook tickets.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks spread prediction

Pass on Seahawks -7 (-110) and Chargers +7 (-108). The projected eight-point Seattle victory falls just beyond the spread, leaving little room for error in a low-confidence forecast. Seattle winning and Seattle covering require different judgments.

Los Angeles' pressure offers a credible route to a close game, particularly with Bradford unavailable. Its offense, however, makes taking the seven points difficult to endorse. The 79 percent consensus preference for Seattle adds no independent football advantage, and popularity alone is insufficient reason to back or fade the favorite.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks total prediction

Pass on Over 43 (-110) and Under 43 (-110). The projected 40 points give the forecast an Under direction, driven mainly by Los Angeles' offensive efficiency and the possibility of its defense disrupting Seattle.

Turnovers complicate that view: they can end promising drives or create short scoring opportunities. Seattle's scoring contribution is also harder to estimate from the supplied team evidence. Over 43 leads the blended consensus at 67 percent, but that preference does not strengthen the scoring case enough to bet either direction.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks projected score

Game forecast: Seahawks 24, Chargers 16. Seattle is the winner selection because the Chargers' offensive production has lagged behind their defensive opportunities. Herbert's early interception total and the team's efficiency rankings make another uneven scoring performance a reasonable expectation.

The strongest counterargument is Los Angeles' showing against Buffalo: four sacks, five takeaways and a sharp reduction in the Bills' offensive efficiency. Combined with Seattle's personnel losses, that performance leaves a plausible path to a closer game or an upset. Confidence is low. Both spread sides and both total directions remain passes at the supplied prices, and the single official SportsJaw wager is Pass.
