Kansas City Chiefs vs Seattle Seahawks prediction: Chiefs narrowly, best bet is Pass

Game time: October 25, 2026 at 8:20 PM ET

Venue: Lumen Field — Seattle, WA

Article updated Oct 25, 8:39 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Kansas City Chiefs will beat the Seattle Seahawks 21-20, with Patrick Mahomes’ full Friday practice and Seattle’s defensive injury concerns providing the strongest matchup reason. Kansas City’s own offensive absences keep the forecast fragile. At Chiefs +3 (-117) and a total of 42.5 (-110) either way, neither market offers a sufficiently supported edge for an actionable wager. The official recommendation is Pass.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Seattle Seahawks prediction and best bet

Kansas City gets the narrow pick in this 2026 NFL Week 7 matchup. The Chiefs enter 5-0, and Mahomes completed Friday’s practice in full despite his knee designation. Seattle enters 3-3 with two linebackers ruled out and several other defenders questionable. That combination tilts the forecast toward the visitors.

The best betting decision is Pass. Kansas City is missing players at receiver, running back and offensive line, complicating its ability to exploit Seattle’s injuries. A projected one-point Chiefs victory makes the underdog spread worth considering, but that score is an estimate, not a measured betting advantage. The injury reports offer a direction for the forecast without enough separation to justify paying -117 for Kansas City +3.

Kansas City Chiefs outlook

Kansas City’s clearest encouraging personnel detail is Mahomes’ full participation Friday. His knee remained on the injury report, so the full practice should be read as a positive availability signal rather than proof that the injury has no effect. For this forecast, it makes the quarterback designation less concerning than the confirmed absences around him.

Wide receiver Rashee Rice is out with hamstring and knee injuries. Running back Brashard Smith is out with a hamstring injury, and offensive lineman Jaylon Moore is out with a concussion. All three missed Friday’s practice. Those losses span multiple parts of the offense, making it risky to assume Seattle’s defensive injuries will automatically produce a strong Kansas City scoring performance.

Travis Kelce was limited Friday with an ankle designation but had no game status listed. Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed was limited with a knee injury and is questionable, adding uncertainty on defense as well.

The 5-0 record gives Kansas City the stronger results to date. It does not tell us how those wins were achieved or how efficiently this particular lineup will perform. The Chiefs remain the forecast choice, but their offensive absences are substantial counterevidence to a confident road pick.

Seattle Seahawks outlook

Seattle’s defensive availability is the central concern. Linebacker Drake Thomas is out with an ankle injury for a second consecutive week, while linebacker Chazz Surratt will miss a fourth straight game with a calf injury. Their absences are confirmed; the rest of the defensive picture contains several unresolved designations.

Outside linebackers DeMarcus Lawrence and Uchenna Nwosu are questionable after each was limited for a second consecutive day. Connor O'Toole is questionable with a hamstring injury after returning to limited participation Friday following two missed practices. Safety Nick Emmanwori was added Friday with a hip injury, practiced on a limited basis and is also questionable. Treating all four as unavailable would exaggerate Seattle’s disadvantage.

On offense, running back Zach Charbonnet is out despite practicing fully during the week. Seattle described him as returning from the ACL tear suffered in the divisional round. His practice participation therefore does not override the explicit out designation.

Quarterback Drew Lock is questionable with a right-elbow injury after limited participation all week. That listing alone says nothing about a change in Seattle’s starting quarterback. The Seahawks’ 3-3 record and home setting frame the challenge, but the strongest reason for caution is how many defensive roles still carry uncertainty.

Key matchup factors

The pivotal question is whether Kansas City’s depleted offense can benefit from Seattle’s defensive absences. Confirmed injuries on both sides pull that assessment in opposite directions. The questionable Seattle defenders matter because their eventual availability could leave the matchup looking considerably different from an assumption that everyone on the report will miss out.

SportsJaw members favor Kansas City +3 (-117) at 75%, matching the blended spread leader. The blended share rose one percentage point from October 24, and qualified handicapper picks favor the same selection at 67%. The overall consensus update is October 25 at 12:22 UTC. Those figures describe selections, not Kansas City’s chance of covering, and popularity alone is no reason to back either side.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Seattle Seahawks spread prediction

Pass on Kansas City +3 (-117) and Seattle -3 (-103). The forecast points toward Kansas City, but the evidence is too dependent on injury interpretation to make the spread an official play. Neither the unbeaten record nor favorable consensus quantifies the Chiefs’ cover chance.

The field goal is useful protection, with an important distinction: a three-point Kansas City loss would push; a smaller loss or outright win would cover. Seattle’s confirmed absences make laying three unattractive, while Kansas City’s offensive losses temper enthusiasm for taking the points at -117.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Seattle Seahawks total prediction

Pass on Over 42.5 (-110) and Under 42.5 (-110). Kansas City 21, Seattle 20 produces 41 projected points, only 1.5 below the line. That narrow gap is not enough to recommend the Under from an injury-led assessment.

Kansas City’s missing offensive personnel could reduce scoring, while Seattle’s defensive absences could work the other way. SportsJaw’s blended total consensus favors Over 42.5 (-110) at 81%. That is a preference share, not an 81% probability of the Over winning. Neither direction earns a wager.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Seattle Seahawks Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Kansas City Chiefs 21, Seattle Seahawks 20. Mahomes’ full Friday practice and Seattle’s confirmed linebacker absences provide the main reasons to choose Kansas City. The Chiefs’ unbeaten record adds support, although it offers no precise guide to the margin.

The strongest counterargument is Kansas City’s own personnel situation: Rice, Smith and Moore are out, Kelce was limited, and Sneed is questionable. Seattle could also have several of its questionable defenders available. That combination keeps confidence low. The forecast still selects Kansas City to win, while the separate price assessment leaves both spread and total as passes. The single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
