Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers Betting Picks & Predictions

Game time: October 18, 2026 at 8:20 PM ET

Venue: Lambeau Field — Green Bay, WI

Article updated Oct 17, 11:28 PM EDT

The Green Bay Packers will beat the Dallas Cowboys, Packers 28, Cowboys 27, in a low-confidence forecast. Dallas’ defensive absences give Green Bay an opening at home, although the Packers’ depleted defensive front makes this a fragile edge. Neither the one-point spread nor the 53.5 total offers a compelling wager at the supplied prices. The official betting recommendation is Pass.

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers prediction and best bet

Green Bay gets the narrow pick in this 2026 NFL Week 6 matchup. Home field and Dallas’ defensive availability concerns tilt the forecast toward the Packers, but their own injuries leave little separation. Expect a competitive finish rather than a comfortable Green Bay win.

The best betting decision is Pass. Green Bay’s slight moneyline favoritism fits that forecast, but a favorite’s price is not independent evidence of an advantage. The injury picture creates plausible scoring opportunities without making either a spread cover or a high total sufficiently attractive.

Dallas Cowboys outlook

Dallas arrives after a home primetime loss to a Tampa Bay team that had been winless. The Cowboys’ October 16 preview described Dak Prescott and the offense as seeking a return to their earlier high-scoring form after an uneven Week 5. That gives Dallas a rebound storyline, but a rebound remains a forecast rather than an established trend.

The offensive availability report offers encouragement. CeeDee Lamb, left tackle Tyler Guyton and guard Tyler Smith carried no game designation and were listed as available. Their availability strengthens the case that Dallas can challenge a depleted Green Bay front.

Defensively, cornerback Cobie Durant is out. DeMarvion Overshown, L.T. Overton, Joey Porter Jr. and Ameer Speed are questionable. Dallas also added Mike Pettine as senior defensive assistant to help coordinator Christian Parker during the Week 6 mini-bye. That staffing change offers no immediate guarantee of better results.

Green Bay Packers outlook

Green Bay’s defensive line is a major concern. Jonathan Ford and Javon Hargrave are ruled out, while Anthony Campbell is questionable. The Cowboys’ preview also says Micah Parsons is not expected to play and Edgerrin Cooper is out for the season. Parsons’ expected absence should remain distinct from the confirmed game exclusions.

The offensive injuries complicate a simple high-scoring projection. Receiver Skyy Moore is out, Savion Williams is questionable, and Green Bay reports that Jayden Reed’s season has ended because of a neck injury. Guard Aaron Banks and guard/center Jacob Monk are also questionable.

Cornerback Benjamin St-Juste is out, with Brandon Cisse questionable. Green Bay therefore faces uncertainty beyond its defensive front. Its better record gives context to the matchup, but the difference between 3-2 and 2-3 carries limited weight without a fuller comparison of performance.

Key matchup factors

Dallas’ clearest opportunity is to make Green Bay’s reduced defensive depth matter. The forecast assumes the Cowboys can sustain enough offense to stay close. The competing consideration is whether Green Bay’s receiver absences and offensive-line uncertainty prevent it from fully exploiting Dallas’ defensive injuries.

SportsJaw’s October 18 consensus update favors Over 53.5 (-108) at 74% in the blended view. Its combined equivalent sample is 450 Over selections and 158 Under selections, totaling 608. Those counts incorporate a modeled sportsbook sample and SportsJaw participation; they are not observed sportsbook ticket totals.

SportsJaw members and qualified handicappers each favor the Over at 63%, while the separate sportsbook split is 77%. The blended Over share rose four percentage points from the October 16 snapshot. These figures measure selection preferences, not the probability of the game clearing 53.5.

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers spread prediction

Pass on Dallas Cowboys +1 (-110) and Green Bay Packers -1 (-108). The projected one-point Green Bay victory would push both spreads. With so little room between the forecast and the line, neither side earns an official recommendation.

Dallas leads the blended spread consensus at 52%. SportsJaw members and qualified handicappers each favor Dallas at 55%, while the sportsbook split is 51%. That modest preference is compatible with a close contest, but it does not turn the supplied Dallas price into a demonstrated betting edge.

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers total prediction

Pass on Over 53.5 (-108) and Under 53.5 (-110). The projected 55 points lean above the total, but the 1.5-point difference is too slight to carry much weight in a low-confidence forecast.

Defensive absences create a credible Over scenario. Green Bay’s offensive personnel concerns provide the counterargument, and Dallas is coming off an uneven offensive week. Strong Over consensus shows where preferences sit; it supplies neither an independent scoring estimate nor enough reason to pay the Over price.

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Packers 28, Cowboys 27. Green Bay gets the final nod at Lambeau Field, with Dallas’ defensive absences offering opportunities to score. The strongest counterargument is the Packers’ own depleted defense, which gives Dallas a credible path to win.

Confidence is low. The forecast calls for a narrow Packers victory, a spread push and a total slightly above 53.5, but none represents a sufficiently strong wagering advantage. The single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
