New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants Prediction, Odds and Best Bet for October 18, 2026

Game time: October 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET

Venue: MetLife Stadium — East Rutherford, NJ

Article updated Oct 17, 11:16 PM EDT

The New York Giants will beat the New Orleans Saints 27-23, with their rushing matchup against a defense allowing 4.9 yards per carry providing the strongest reason to back them. Giants +1 (-115) is the best bet at the supplied price. New Orleans’ red-zone efficiency makes this a medium-confidence forecast, while the total of 46 is a Pass.

New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants prediction and best bet

Take the Giants +1 (-115). New York has a plausible advantage in both the running game and the tight-end matchup, giving the home team more than its better record to lean on. Cam Skattebo’s production through contact fits the opportunity against New Orleans, while Isaiah Likely offers another route to sustained drives.

The Saints have the finishing ability to challenge that forecast. Their success inside the 20 makes a competitive game more likely than a comfortable Giants win. Still, New York’s offensive matchups justify taking the point and projecting an outright victory. The official wager is the Giants spread, with medium confidence in the game forecast.

New Orleans Saints outlook

New Orleans’ strongest offensive argument is its red-zone conversion rate. The Saints scored touchdowns on 13 of 16 trips through five games, an 81.3 percent rate that ranked third in the NFL. That efficiency gives them a way to stay competitive even if they generate fewer scoring opportunities.

Possession security has pulled in the other direction. Their minus-six turnover differential was tied for the NFL’s lowest entering Week 6. Another lost possession would be especially costly in a matchup priced within one point, although that season figure should not be treated as a prediction of Sunday’s turnovers.

The offensive injury questions involve Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave. Kamara was limited throughout the practice week with a back injury and is questionable. Olave was limited Friday with an illness and is also questionable. Quarterback Tyler Shough practiced fully Wednesday through Friday despite a left-hand issue and received no game designation.

The defense has allowed 148.8 rushing yards per game and 10 rushing touchdowns through five games. It will also be without linebacker Kaden Elliss, ruled out with a calf injury, and edge Anfernee Jennings, ruled out with a knee injury. Those absences add concern to an already favorable rushing matchup for New York.

New York Giants outlook

Malik Nabers gives the Giants a productive receiving option beyond the underneath game. He followed six catches for 112 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 with 11 catches for 121 yards and another touchdown against Washington. His 20 targets in that latest game show how heavily New York used him.

Skattebo has averaged 3.5 yards after contact per carry, with 96.6 percent of his rushing yardage coming after contact through five games. That is the most useful part of his profile here: New York can ask him to challenge a Saints defense that has conceded substantial rushing yardage.

Likely caught 11 passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns against Washington. His 33 receptions through five games set a Giants tight-end record for that span. Despite a foot issue, he practiced fully all three days and received no game designation.

Protection remains a concern because tackles Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor are questionable with groin and calf injuries, respectively. Linebacker Abdul Carter is questionable with a calf injury. Cornerback Colton Hood, tight end Theo Johnson and safety Tyler Nubin are out.

Key matchup factors

The Giants’ appeal is the combination of rushing opportunity and a productive tight end. New Orleans has allowed 36 receptions and 356 receiving yards to tight ends entering Week 6. If its front needs extra help against the run, Likely could make those defensive choices more difficult.

New York’s tackle availability is the clearest threat to that plan. Favorable receiving matchups matter less if protection breaks down. On the other side, Kamara’s and Olave’s uncertain availability complicates the projection of how often New Orleans can reach the red zone.

The consensus is divided. As of October 18 at 03:05 UTC, the blended spread consensus favored Giants +1 (-115) at 65 percent, up eight percentage points from the October 16 snapshot. SportsJaw members favored Saints -1 (-105) at 60 percent, while qualified handicappers favored that same Saints spread at 59 percent. These are separate measures of betting preference, not win probabilities.

New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants spread prediction

The recommendation is New York Giants +1 (-115). The point adds a small cushion to an outright-win forecast built around identifiable offensive opportunities. The case rests primarily on the rushing and tight-end matchups, with New York’s unbeaten home record offering supporting context.

Saints -1 (-105) costs less to back, but New Orleans must overcome defensive vulnerabilities and uncertainty around two offensive contributors. Its red-zone efficiency and support among SportsJaw members and qualified handicappers are meaningful counterarguments. They keep the Giants recommendation measured rather than emphatic.

New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants total prediction

Pass on both Over 46 (-110) and Under 46 (-110). The projected 50 points lean toward the Over, helped by the Saints’ red-zone finishing and New York’s receiving production. The blended total consensus also favors Over 46 (-110) at 63 percent.

That scoring projection has less conviction than the side. Uncertain availability for Kamara, Olave and the Giants tackles could materially change offensive execution. SportsJaw members and qualified handicappers are each at 50 percent on the Over, offering no clear directional preference. Keep the total off the official card.

New Orleans Saints vs New York Giants Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: New York Giants 27, New Orleans Saints 23. New York’s rushing opportunity and Likely’s matchup give it the stronger route to enough scoring possessions. The Saints’ excellent red-zone conversion rate is the strongest counterargument and should keep the Giants under pressure.

Confidence is medium. The matchup favors New York, but injuries and opposing spread preferences leave room for a close reversal. The single official SportsJaw wager is New York Giants +1 (-115). The total remains a Pass at 46, priced -110 in either direction.
