Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons Predictions October 18, 2026

Game time: October 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET

Venue: Mercedes-Benz Stadium — Atlanta, GA

Article updated Oct 11, 9:09 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Atlanta Falcons are projected to beat the Chicago Bears, Falcons 24, Bears 23, on the strength of their recent combination of efficient passing and productive rushing. Atlanta’s offensive balance earns a slight forecasting edge, but Chicago’s strong ground game makes it fragile. Neither Falcons +1.5 (-110) nor the 47.5 total offers a convincing wager; the official recommendation is Pass.

Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons prediction and best bet

Atlanta gets the pick because its recent offensive success has extended beyond one player or one route to scoring. Michael Penix Jr. complemented a productive rushing attack against New Orleans, and the Falcons reported strong offensive results across the two games ending Oct. 5. That combination tilts a close forecast toward Atlanta.

The best betting decision is Pass. Chicago’s documented rushing production is a substantial counterweight, and the injury information concerns the preceding week. A projected one-point Atlanta victory expresses a slight preference. It is too delicate an advantage to turn automatically into a spread wager.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Matchup: Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons, NFL, 2026 season.

Date: Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026.

Venue: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia.

Broadcast: Fox.

SportsJaw spread: Chicago -1.5 (-110); Atlanta +1.5 (-110).

SportsJaw total: Over 47.5 (-110); Under 47.5 (-110). Moneyline: Chicago -125; Atlanta +111.

Chicago Bears outlook

Chicago’s strongest credential is its rushing output. Through the club’s Oct. 9 report, the Bears led the NFL with 196.3 rushing yards per game. Kyle Monangai had 324 yards and three touchdowns on 60 carries, averaging 5.4 yards per attempt. D’Andre Swift added 311 yards and three touchdowns on 69 attempts.

Monangai’s availability deserves attention without treating an earlier designation as an Oct. 18 ruling. Chicago ruled him out against Green Bay on Oct. 11 because of a toe injury, and coach Ben Johnson described him as week-to-week. He sustained the injury during the Oct. 4 victory over the Jets, when he rushed for a career-high 146 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.

Swift practiced fully on Oct. 9 and had no designation for the Green Bay game after hip and knee limitations earlier that week. His production gives Chicago another established rushing option. Still, neither player’s earlier practice status settles his availability against Atlanta, so the forecast avoids assuming a full-strength backfield or a confirmed absence.

Atlanta Falcons outlook

Atlanta’s Oct. 5 win at New Orleans supplies the clearest example of its offensive potential. Penix completed 15 of 20 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown in the 45-24 victory. His 127.7 passer rating was identified by the Falcons as his career high.

Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson combined for 207 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 33 carries, averaging 6.3 yards per attempt. Bijan scored on a 59-yard run on the third play and later added another touchdown. That performance gives the Atlanta forecast a concrete foundation in both passing efficiency and rushing production.

The club also reported at least 80 points and 800 total yards across the two games ending Oct. 5, with eight rushing touchdowns, no more than one turnover and no more than one sack allowed. Those results make Atlanta appealing, although a two-game stretch remains a narrow window for predicting another opponent.

Key matchup factors

The central question is whether Atlanta can carry its recent offensive balance into a matchup with Chicago. The Bears’ rushing results offer a plausible way to sustain drives and reduce Atlanta’s opportunities, but strong rushing averages alone do not guarantee control of possession. The forecast gives both offenses credit without assigning either defense an unsupported weakness.

SportsJaw’s blended spread consensus favors Atlanta +1.5 (-110) at 60%, updated Oct. 11 at 13:03 UTC. Its combined equivalent sample contains 600 selections, with 360 allocated to Atlanta and 240 to Chicago. That combines modeled sportsbook selections with SportsJaw participation; it is not an observed sportsbook ticket count. The preference aligns with the forecast, but popularity adds no independent measure of betting value.

Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons spread prediction

Pass on Atlanta +1.5 (-110) and Chicago -1.5 (-110). Atlanta is the preferred team in the game forecast, and taking points would fit that outlook. The obstacle is the strength of the edge: recent offensive production and an unsettled Chicago injury situation leave too much room for a narrow Bears victory.

Chicago’s season rushing rate is the strongest argument against backing Atlanta. Conversely, the Falcons’ recent balance makes laying points with Chicago unappealing. Neither side earns an official spread recommendation at the supplied price.

Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons total prediction

Pass on Over 47.5 (-110) and Under 47.5 (-110). Atlanta’s recent scoring provides an Over argument. Sustained rushing drives could also consume clock, but either team could turn productive carries into scoring opportunities, so rushing success is not automatically an Under signal.

The projected 47 points sit half a point below 47.5. That small difference is too sensitive to ordinary scoring variation to justify an Under wager. Without a stronger matchup-specific reason to expect either a faster scoring pace or sustained defensive resistance, the total remains a Pass.

Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falcons projected score

Game forecast: Falcons 24, Bears 23. Atlanta’s recent passing efficiency alongside its rushing production earns the narrow nod. Chicago’s league-leading rushing rate through Oct. 9 is the strongest counterargument, with Monangai’s eventual availability another meaningful variable.

Confidence is low. Atlanta is the projected winner, but the evidence points to a competitive game rather than a dependable pricing advantage. The single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass, with both the spread and total left alone.
