Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints Predictions October 11, 2026

Game time: October 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET

Venue: Caesars Superdome — New Orleans, LA

Article updated Oct 4, 9:14 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Minnesota Vikings will beat the New Orleans Saints, Minnesota 23, New Orleans 20, in a low-confidence forecast. New Orleans’ recent injuries at linebacker and edge defender offer Minnesota a potential opening, although those reports concern Week 4. Minnesota’s struggling offense keeps the edge fragile, and neither Vikings -1.5 (-110) nor the total of 44 merits a wager. The official recommendation is Pass.

Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints prediction and best bet

Minnesota is the pick for this Week 5 matchup, with a narrow victory more plausible than a comfortable separation. The Vikings are slight favorites, and the Saints’ recent defensive injury concerns offer a possible path for Minnesota to improve on its slow offensive start.

That path depends partly on personnel. New Orleans ruled out three linebackers or edge defenders for Week 4, but those designations do not carry automatically into October 11. Minnesota also has its own significant concern after Justin Jefferson’s Week 4 ankle absence.

The best bet is Pass. A projected Minnesota win is compatible with declining the spread: the forecast favors the Vikings, while confidence in their margin remains low. The total deserves a separate assessment and also finishes as a Pass.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Game time: Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 1 p.m. EDT, noon CDT. This is a 2026 NFL Week 5 game.

Venue: Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Minnesota visits New Orleans.

Broadcast: FOX.

Record context: New Orleans was 1-2 entering its October 5 Week 4 game against Atlanta and was in a three-game homestand.

SportsJaw moneyline: Minnesota -136; New Orleans +112.

SportsJaw spread: Minnesota -1.5 (-110); New Orleans +1.5 (-110). SportsJaw total: Over 44 (-115); Under 44 (-105).

Minnesota Vikings outlook

Minnesota entered Week 4 last in the NFL in total offense at 238.3 yards per game. That is the clearest performance concern for a team being asked to win on the road. Favoritism alone is no reason to expect a sudden offensive breakthrough.

Jefferson was ruled out against Miami after missing all three practices with an ankle injury sustained September 27 at Tampa Bay. Through Week 3, he had 179 receiving yards, his lowest total through three games in his career. Even with that modest production, he was Minnesota’s only player with multiple scrimmage touchdowns.

NFL.com identified Jordan Addison as the expected primary receiver for Week 4 following big plays in the win at Tampa Bay. Those contributions offer an encouraging detail, but they are not evidence that Minnesota has already solved its broader offensive problems.

Blake Cashman finished the Week 4 practice week with full participation and no game-status designation. Cornerback Chuck Demmings and punter Brett Thorson were ruled out that week with hamstring injuries. These are dated personnel updates, not confirmed availability for the Saints game.

New Orleans Saints outlook

The Saints’ October 3 injury report placed the largest cluster of concerns in their defensive front. Linebacker Kaden Elliss, with a calf injury, and edge defenders Carl Granderson and Anfernee Jennings, with ankle and knee injuries respectively, missed every listed practice and were ruled out against Atlanta.

Linebacker Pete Werner was questionable with a shoulder injury, while tight end Noah Fant was questionable with an abdomen injury. If the defensive absences continue, New Orleans could have fewer personnel options against Minnesota. Their Week 4 status alone cannot tell us how that group will look on October 11.

There were better practice developments elsewhere. Barion Brown, Christen Miller, Martin Emerson Jr. and Davon Godchaux participated fully Saturday. Julian Blackmon was a full participant Friday and Saturday after being limited Thursday. That mixed picture argues against treating the entire Saints defense as depleted.

Key matchup factors

The central tension is Minnesota’s demonstrated offensive difficulty against New Orleans’ possible defensive availability problems. The first is an established early-season result; the second remains conditional for this matchup. That distinction keeps the forecast at low confidence.

SportsJaw’s combined moneyline consensus favored Minnesota at 72% as of October 4 at 12:59 p.m. UTC. The combined modeled equivalent sample represented 432 Minnesota selections and 168 New Orleans selections, totaling 600. Those figures are not observed sportsbook ticket or user counts, and 72% is not Minnesota’s estimated chance to win.

New Orleans gained 10 percentage points from the October 3 snapshot. Minnesota still held the consensus lead, but neither the lead nor that movement measures an advantage against the spread. No separate member-pick leader or qualified-handicapper selection was supplied.

Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass Minnesota -1.5 (-110) and New Orleans +1.5 (-110).

The projected three-point Minnesota win would cover -1.5. The reason to pass is the fragility of that projection, rather than the size of the spread alone. Minnesota’s early offensive output and the uncertain relevance of both teams’ Week 4 injury reports leave too much riding on assumptions.

Taking New Orleans +1.5 would require more than discomfort with the favorite. The Saints’ recent defensive concerns also complicate their case, so neither side earns an official spread wager.

Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass Over 44 (-115) and Under 44 (-105).

The projected score totals 43 points, placing it just below the supplied line. Minnesota’s early offensive struggles pull the forecast toward the Under, while a Saints defense still missing key front-seven personnel could create opportunities for more scoring.

The one-point difference between the forecast and the total is too slight to treat as a dependable betting edge. Under 44 at -105 is cheaper than Over 44 at -115, but the lower price alone does not make it the right wager.

Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints projected score

Game forecast: Minnesota Vikings 23, New Orleans Saints 20. Confidence: low.

Minnesota gets the narrow nod, with the Saints’ recent defensive injuries offering a potential opening. The strongest counterargument is the Vikings’ last-ranked offense entering Week 4, compounded by Jefferson’s recent absence. This is a slight preference, not a clear matchup advantage.

The single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass. Both the spread and total remain passes at the supplied prices, even though Minnesota is the projected winner.
