Louisiana Tech Bulldogs vs LSU Tigers Betting Picks & Predictions
No. 8 LSU and Louisiana Tech bring productive season openers into Saturday’s matchup. With a spread above five touchdowns, the betting decision is a pass.
Two unbeaten teams, one game of evidence
Louisiana Tech visits No. 8 LSU at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge on Saturday, September 12, for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff in the 2026 college football season. Both teams enter 1-0.
LSU beat Clemson 51-10 in Lane Kiffin’s debut, generating 644 total yards. Sam Leavitt contributed 230 passing yards, 113 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Dilin Jones added 113 rushing yards and two scores. The result moved LSU from No. 11 to No. 8 in the AP poll.
Louisiana Tech opened with an 80-6 victory over Northwestern State. The Bulldogs gained 527 yards, surrendered 129 and scored touchdowns on their first 10 offensive possessions. Blake Baker passed for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Those figures establish a productive opener, but they do not establish how that offense will perform against LSU.
The price requires a separate judgment
LSU’s moneyline is -10,000, with Louisiana Tech at +3,750. The spread is LSU -35.25 (-110) and Louisiana Tech +35.25 (-110). The over is 55.5 (-110), and the under is 55.5 (-110).
The moneyline makes LSU the substantial market favorite. Covering the spread requires a victory by at least 36 points, a different question from simply winning. LSU leads the series 20-1 and is 15-0 in Baton Rouge, but those records do not establish the likely margin Saturday. Louisiana Tech lost last season’s meeting at LSU 23-7.
Neither opening result provides enough support to project a cover at this number. Louisiana Tech’s scoring against Northwestern State also leaves its contribution to the total uncertain. Combining two high-scoring openers is insufficient grounds for an over recommendation.
