Texas Longhorns vs Missouri Tigers Betting Picks & Predictions

Game time: November 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET

Venue: Memorial Stadium — Columbia, MO

Article updated Oct 31, 11:27 PM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Texas is projected to beat Missouri 24-21 in their November 7, 2026 SEC matchup in Columbia. The Longhorns’ documented defensive production, led by their conference-best passing-efficiency defense, supplies the strongest reason to favor them. Missouri’s home success makes the margin less convincing. Neither Texas -3.5 (-114) nor the 49.5-point total offers a persuasive betting edge, so the official recommendation is Pass.

Texas Longhorns vs Missouri Tigers prediction and best bet

Texas gets the winner pick because its defense offers the strongest statistical argument in this matchup. In its October 28 release, Texas reported allowing 285.4 yards and 19.1 points per game, alongside an SEC-leading 107.66 passing-efficiency defense rating. Those figures point toward a difficult scoring assignment for Missouri.

The best betting decision is Pass. Missouri’s 37-9 record at Faurot Field under Eli Drinkwitz, reported before October 31, is substantial counterevidence to a comfortable road victory. Texas 24, Missouri 21 reflects a narrow preference for the Longhorns. It also leaves Texas short of covering -3.5, without supplying enough conviction to recommend Missouri at +3.5.

Texas Longhorns outlook

Texas’s October 28 defensive snapshot shows strength against both the run and pass. The Longhorns allowed 178.1 passing yards and 107.3 rushing yards per game, with their 285.4-yard total ranking 15th nationally. That balance matters because Missouri would benefit from finding an alternative if its passing game struggles. The figures favor Texas defensively, though they describe performance through that release rather than a complete statistical update for November 7.

The same release reported 7.1 tackles for loss and 2.71 sacks per game. Negative plays could make sustained Missouri drives harder, especially if they leave the Tigers needing longer completions. That is a plausible route to a Texas victory, rather than a guarantee that Missouri will repeatedly face obvious passing situations.

Linebacker Rasheem Biles gives that argument a concrete personnel foundation. The Butkus Award semifinalist had 53 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions in the October 28 release. Against Ole Miss on October 24, he recorded four tackles, one tackle for loss, an interception, two pass breakups and four pressures in a Texas win. His contributions strengthen the defensive forecast; they say much less about how many points Texas will score.

Missouri Tigers outlook

Missouri’s strongest counterargument is its performance at home under Drinkwitz. The school’s October 30 notes listed a 37-9 record at Faurot Field during his tenure. That history warrants respect when Texas must win by at least four points to cover. It spans multiple seasons and opponents, however, so it is more useful as context than as a direct estimate of Missouri’s chances against this Texas team.

Those notes placed Missouri at 5-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play before its October 31 trip to Arkansas. Those are dated records, not its confirmed record entering the Texas game. The clearest documented offensive setback was the October 17 loss at Ole Miss, where Missouri scored three points in a 31-3 defeat.

Donovan Olugbode nevertheless caught nine passes for 127 yards in that game. His production gives Missouri a receiving threat to consider, even though one player’s yardage did not translate into many team points. Linebacker Nicholas Rodriguez contributed 13 tackles and a forced fumble. These individual performances offer reasons to expect resistance, but neither establishes a consistent offensive scoring level or a defensive advantage over Texas. Missouri’s home history keeps the forecast close.

Key matchup factors

The central question is whether Missouri can turn receiving production into scoring against Texas’s pass defense. Olugbode’s Ole Miss performance shows that substantial receiving yardage can coexist with a poor team scoring result. It does not explain every failed possession, so attributing that defeat to red-zone mistakes, protection or turnovers would go beyond the evidence.

Texas’s defensive balance makes the Longhorns the preferred winner, while Missouri’s home record argues for restraint on the margin. The least certain part of the forecast is Texas’s scoring output: there is no comparable offensive statistical profile here. That imbalance matters more when evaluating a spread or total than when making a slight straight-up selection.

Texas Longhorns vs Missouri Tigers spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Texas -3.5 (-114) and Missouri +3.5 (-106). A Texas victory and a Texas cover are different outcomes, particularly with the line beyond a field goal. The projected three-point margin would favor Missouri against the spread, but that narrow distinction is too fragile to justify a wager.

Texas’s defense supplies a reason to select the Longhorns outright. Missouri’s home history supplies a reason to question separation. Without a fuller comparison of Texas’s offense and Missouri’s defense, neither price earns the official selection.

Texas Longhorns vs Missouri Tigers total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 49.5 (-110) and Under 49.5 (-110). The projected 45 points lean below the line, and Texas’s reported 19.1 points allowed per game gives that direction some support. Missouri’s three-point outing at Ole Miss adds caution about its scoring ceiling.

Still, one poor offensive result is a shaky foundation for a total. Texas’s offensive production and Missouri’s broader defensive performance remain major gaps in the scoring comparison. The projected score expresses an editorial expectation; its distance below 49.5 is not enough by itself to make the under actionable.

Texas Longhorns vs Missouri Tigers Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Texas 24, Missouri 21. Texas’s documented ability to limit yardage and generate negative plays earns the Longhorns a narrow winner selection. Biles’s contributions reinforce that assessment with a specific example of a defender affecting both passing plays and the backfield.

Missouri’s home success is the strongest challenge to that forecast. A competitive game fits both the respect due that record and the uncertainty surrounding the offensive comparison. Confidence is low because the case is stronger for Texas’s defense than for an exact winning margin or combined score. Both markets remain Pass, and the single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
