Oregon Ducks vs Ohio St. Buckeyes Betting Picks & Predictions

Game time: November 7, 2026 at 3:30 PM ET

Venue: Ohio Stadium — Columbus, OH

Article updated Nov 1, 1:34 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Ohio State will beat Oregon, with a projected score of Ohio State 27, Oregon 24. The Buckeyes’ balanced production at USC, including 204 rushing yards, gives them a narrow home edge, while Oregon’s passing performance keeps the forecast close. Ohio State -14 (-105) is too demanding for this outlook, but Oregon’s case also carries uncertainty. Neither supplied market offers a strong enough wager; the official recommendation is Pass.

Oregon Ducks vs Ohio St. Buckeyes prediction and best bet

Ohio State gets the nod because its latest offensive performance offered several ways to move the ball. The Buckeyes gained 260 yards passing and 204 rushing at USC, suggesting they can spread the responsibility across their backfield and receivers. Returning home adds to that modest advantage.

The 30-18 loss also exposed the difference between gaining yards and finishing possessions. Oregon brings a credible answer after Dylan Raiola threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns against Northwestern. That makes a comfortable Ohio State victory a much harder sell than an outright win. The forecast is Ohio State 27, Oregon 24, with low confidence. The official SportsJaw wager is Pass after evaluating the spread and total separately.

SportsJaw total: Over 45.5 (-110); Under 45.5 (-110).

Weather: The October 31 Columbus forecast calls for November 7 drizzle and overcast skies, a 61°F high, 48°F low and 7 mph wind. These are daily forecasts, not kickoff observations.

Oregon Ducks outlook

Oregon’s strongest argument comes from its passing game. Raiola completed 22 of 31 attempts for 336 yards and three touchdowns in the October 31 victory over No. 20 Northwestern. The Ducks won 34-26 after trailing 20-13 at halftime, turning a difficult opening half into a successful afternoon.

Oregon produced 441 yards on 59 plays and scored on all five red-zone trips. That combination matters against a favorite whose latest performance included problems finishing drives. The Ducks have a recent example of turning scoring opportunities into points, although one game is a limited guide to how efficiently they will operate in Columbus.

The defense presents a less comfortable picture. Northwestern gained 456 yards on 74 plays and opened 6-for-8 on third down. Oregon responded by allowing only one third-down conversion after halftime. The improvement supports a competitive forecast, but the full-game yardage keeps expectations measured.

Backfield health also deserves attention. Jordon Davison and Dierre Hill Jr. required medical attention during the Northwestern game. That report does not confirm either player’s status for Ohio State. Reserve Brandon Smith supplied eight carries for 82 yards, giving Oregon meaningful production when called upon.

Ohio St. Buckeyes outlook

Ohio State’s October 31 loss at USC was a reminder that a yardage advantage can coexist with a disappointing result. The Buckeyes outgained USC 464-338 but lost 30-18. Their offensive output supports the winner selection; their execution makes the margin much less certain.

Bo Jackson and Isaiah West combined for 193 rushing yards on 34 carries. That production gives the forecast a concrete foundation without requiring an assumption about Oregon’s run defense. If the Buckeyes can generate a similar ground contribution, they should have more flexibility in choosing when to throw.

First-time starter Luke Fahey completed 21 of 38 passes for 260 yards and one touchdown. Jeremiah Smith contributed 10 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown, providing substantial receiving production. Those are results from the USC game, rather than confirmation of the starting lineup against Oregon.

The costly details were 11 penalties for 71 yards and a lost fumble. Ryan Day also identified red-zone execution as a major issue. Ohio State recorded nine tackles for loss, showing defensive disruption even in defeat. The task now is to pair that disruption and offensive yardage with cleaner possessions. Assuming all those problems disappear would be too generous to a two-touchdown favorite.

Key matchup factors

Finishing drives is the clearest contrast. Oregon scored on all five red-zone visits against Northwestern, while Ohio State’s coach highlighted red-zone problems at USC. That favors keeping the projected margin close, even with Ohio State selected to win. Neither performance should be treated as a fixed expectation.

The combined SportsJaw consensus favored Ohio State -14 (-105) at 67% as of November 1 at 05:20 UTC, up 19 percentage points from the October 31 snapshot. That figure blends modeled sportsbook input with SportsJaw participation; it is neither a win probability nor a count of observed sportsbook tickets. Popularity alone supplies no reason to back Ohio State or automatically take Oregon.

Oregon Ducks vs Ohio St. Buckeyes spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Oregon Ducks +14 (-115) and Ohio St. Buckeyes -14 (-105). The projected three-point margin makes Oregon the more tempting side, but a score estimate is not enough to establish value at -115.

Oregon’s passing output supports a competitive game. Its defensive yardage allowed and unresolved backfield availability weaken the case for a wager. Ohio State’s balanced offense supplies the opposite risk: cleaner execution could produce a much wider margin. With only these recent performances to judge, neither spread earns an official recommendation.

Oregon Ducks vs Ohio St. Buckeyes total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 45.5 (-110) and Under 45.5 (-110). The projection totals 51 points, giving the Over an initial appeal. Both offenses topped 440 yards in their latest games, and Raiola’s three touchdown passes strengthen the scoring case.

The uncertainty is how consistently those yards become points. Ohio State scored only 18 at USC, and Oregon improved defensively after halftime against Northwestern. The daily drizzle forecast is not a strong enough reason to choose Under. The scoring possibilities pull in both directions, leaving the total a Pass.

Oregon Ducks vs Ohio St. Buckeyes Projected Score & Betting Picks

The game forecast is Ohio State 27, Oregon 24. Ohio State’s recent balance and home setting give it a slight advantage, while the Ducks’ passing production argues for a game that remains competitive. This projection anticipates better finishing from the Buckeyes without assuming a complete turnaround.

The strongest counterargument is Oregon’s ability to answer through Raiola and capitalize near the goal line. Another uneven Ohio State performance could reverse the winner. Confidence is low because the recent evidence supports both paths. Pass remains the single official SportsJaw recommendation: neither the spread nor the total offers a sufficiently dependable edge at the supplied price.
