Buffalo Bulls vs Ball St. Cardinals Prediction, Odds and Best Bet for Nov. 11, 2026

Game time: November 11, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET

Venue: Scheumann Stadium — Muncie, IN

Article updated Nov 6, 1:35 AM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Buffalo is projected to beat Ball State 28-24, with Jason Wright’s recent passing production and the Bulls’ defensive pressure giving them a slight advantage. Ball State’s rushing performance offers a credible counterweight, keeping confidence low. Neither Buffalo -2.5 (-122) nor the total of 50.5 (-110) offers a convincing betting edge, so the official SportsJaw recommendation is Pass.

Buffalo Bulls vs Ball St. Cardinals prediction and best bet

Buffalo is the pick to win this 2026 college football matchup, but the official betting decision is Pass. Four consecutive victories give the Bulls the stronger recent results, and their latest performance featured contributions from both the passing attack and defensive front.

The distinction is how much to trust that advantage at the supplied prices. Buffalo needed a major comeback and overtime to beat Miami (OH), while Ball State lost by one in overtime at Massachusetts. Those performances favor a competitive forecast more than a confident wager. Buffalo 28, Ball State 24 is the projection, with low confidence.

Buffalo Bulls outlook

Buffalo’s November 3 victory over Miami (OH) showed how much its passing game can contribute. According to Buffalo Athletics’ recap, Wright threw for a career-high 358 yards and two touchdowns, adding two rushing scores in the 34-31 overtime win.

Chance Morrow was the leading receiving contributor, catching 12 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns. That performance makes the Wright-Morrow connection central to this forecast. It is evidence of substantial production in one game, however, rather than proof that Ball State will struggle against the same combination.

Buffalo also recorded a season-best five sacks and nine tackles for loss. Will Clark and Sedrick Vessah supplied two sacks apiece. The caution is the game situation: the Bulls trailed by 15 points in the fourth quarter. Their recovery was impressive, but another late deficit would leave little room for error.

Ball St. Cardinals outlook

Ball State’s strongest response is its recent rushing production. In the November 4 loss at Massachusetts, Jalen Bonds gained 132 yards on 17 carries and scored twice. Ball State Athletics identified it as his first collegiate 100-yard rushing game.

Keldric Luster completed 17 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown, and his 2-yard rushing touchdown tied the game during regulation. The Cardinals finished with 350 total yards in the 31-30 overtime defeat. Bonds gives them a plausible route to sustaining offense without asking Luster to match Wright’s latest passing total.

Discipline is the immediate concern. Ball State committed eight first-half penalties and finished with 95 penalty yards, according to its official recap. A cleaner performance would improve its chances of converting offensive production into a win. Repeating those mistakes could make an already close matchup harder to manage.

Key matchup factors

The most consequential matchup is whether Ball State can run effectively enough to limit obvious passing situations. Buffalo’s recent pressure makes that an appealing approach for the Cardinals. If Bonds keeps the offense on schedule, the Bulls may have fewer opportunities to attack Luster on long-yardage downs.

Buffalo’s better record and winning streak support selecting the visitors, but neither measures this matchup by itself. The teams’ latest games came against different opponents, so comparing individual yardage totals is an imperfect guide. Ball State’s rushing success is the strongest reason to keep the projected margin modest.

Buffalo Bulls vs Ball St. Cardinals spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Buffalo -2.5 (-122) and Ball State +2.5 (+100). The projected four-point Buffalo victory would cover the favorite’s line, but that narrow margin leaves the decision sensitive to a single scoring play.

The -122 price requires more conviction than this matchup warrants. Wright’s performance and Buffalo’s pressure favor the Bulls, while Bonds’ breakout supplies a reasonable case for Ball State staying close. The Cardinals’ even-money spread return is not enough on its own to justify taking the points.

Buffalo Bulls vs Ball St. Cardinals total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 50.5 (-110) and Under 50.5 (-110). The projected 52 points lean above the line, but the margin is too small to make Over the official wager.

Both teams’ latest final scores included overtime, making them a shaky foundation for an Over recommendation. Recent offensive production points toward scoring potential, while Buffalo’s defensive disruption supplies a counterargument. There is no sufficiently strong reason here to pay -110 in either direction.

Buffalo Bulls vs Ball St. Cardinals Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Buffalo 28, Ball State 24. Buffalo gets the nod because its recent passing performance and defensive pressure offer the more persuasive combination. Ball State’s ability to build around Bonds is the strongest counterargument and could turn a narrow projected loss into a home victory.

Confidence is low. The forecast favors Buffalo, but neither the spread nor the total offers a demonstrated betting advantage at the supplied line and price. The single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
