Army Black Knights vs Memphis Tigers Predictions October 31, 2026

Game time: October 31, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET

Venue: Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium — Memphis, TN

Article updated Oct 30, 2:53 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Memphis will beat Army, with a projected score of Memphis 31, Army 28. The Tigers’ balance between passing and rushing production is the strongest reason to favor them, supported by their 4-0 home record. Army’s productive ground game and recent winning streak make the margin less convincing. Neither Memphis -6 (-109) nor the 59.5 total offers a strong enough betting edge; the official recommendation is Pass.

Army Black Knights vs Memphis Tigers prediction and best bet

Memphis gets the winner pick because its season-long offensive production offers a stronger foundation than either team’s latest comeback alone. The Tigers average 508.3 yards and 36.1 points per game, with substantial contributions through the air and on the ground. That gives them multiple ways to build scoring drives.

Winning and covering six points are separate judgments. Army has won three straight, is 2-1 away and just produced 275 rushing yards against Tulsa. Those results make a competitive finish credible. Memphis is the choice to win, but its home record and offensive output are insufficient reasons to insist on a touchdown margin. The best betting decision is Pass.

Army Black Knights outlook

Army’s October 23 victory at Tulsa supplies a concrete reason to respect its rushing attack. Cale Hellums gained 121 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. Godspower Nwawuihe added 135 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Together, they accounted for most of Army’s 275 rushing yards and all four of its rushing touchdowns.

That production gives Army a plausible route to an upset: sustain drives, finish them with touchdowns and make Memphis capitalize on its own opportunities. The Tulsa performance supports confidence in those runners, although one game cannot tell us how consistently Army will move the ball against this particular defense.

Army also showed resilience, trailing 35-28 at the two-minute timeout before scoring the final 10 points. Dawson Jones won it 38-35 with a 50-yard field goal as time expired. He made three field goals that day, including another from 51 yards.

Jones enters Memphis with five consecutive made field goals and a perfect 28-for-28 record on 2026 extra points. That accuracy matters in a close forecast. Still, Army needed a dramatic finish against Tulsa. Its three-game winning streak deserves weight without turning the latest escape into a promise of another.

Memphis Tigers outlook

Memphis averages 280.5 passing yards and 227.8 rushing yards per game. Neither phase is a minor supplement, which is the clearest attraction in the Tigers’ offensive profile. Their game-week release places their 508.3 total yards and 36.1 points per game among the nation’s top 25 marks.

Marcus Stokes demonstrated that versatility in the 41-34 overtime victory over East Carolina. He completed 29 of 43 passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns, then added 31 rushing yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. Accounting for all five Memphis touchdowns made him central to the recovery from a 24-10 deficit.

There are productive options around him. Jaylin Carter rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries against UAB on October 10. Stonka Burnside had seven catches for 151 yards against Tulane, including a 76-yard touchdown. Those performances illustrate the different threats Army must consider, without guaranteeing another breakout.

The caution comes from the same East Carolina game. Memphis needed overtime after climbing out of a substantial deficit. A 4-0 home record helps the winner forecast, but another uneven start would make covering six difficult. The Tigers have enough offensive variety to earn the selection; their recent result leaves room for a narrow win.

Key matchup factors

Finishing possessions is especially important to this forecast. Army has a kicker who has recently converted from long range, but repeated field goals would be a difficult trade if Memphis turns its offensive balance into touchdowns. Conversely, Army’s four rushing touchdowns at Tulsa show why the Tigers cannot simply count on that scoring advantage.

The other question is how much weight to give location. Memphis has won all four home games, while Army has won two of three away games. That favors the Tigers without making the venue decisive. Army’s road success and rushing production are the strongest checks on an overly comfortable Memphis projection.

Army Black Knights vs Memphis Tigers spread prediction

Pass on Memphis -6 (-109) and Army +6 (-105). The projected three-point Memphis win points toward Army relative to the spread, but the precision of that margin is fragile. Army’s latest rushing performance is encouraging; Memphis’ season production also leaves a credible route to a larger Tigers win.

Backing Army requires more conviction that its offense can sustain drives here. Backing Memphis requires more conviction that the Tigers can separate. The evidence is stronger on the likely winner than on either side of six, so neither spread becomes an official wager.

Army Black Knights vs Memphis Tigers total prediction

Pass on Over 59.5 (-113) and Under 59.5 (-107). Memphis’ scoring average and Army’s four rushing touchdowns against Tulsa give the Over a reasonable argument. Both teams’ latest wins also featured substantial scoring, although Memphis’ 41-34 result included overtime.

The projection totals 59 points, just below the line. That half-point difference is far too small to carry an Under recommendation. Army sustaining rushing possessions could reduce scoring opportunities, while efficient touchdown drives could push this above the number. Neither direction has a convincing advantage at its supplied price.

Army Black Knights vs Memphis Tigers projected score

The forecast is Memphis 31, Army 28, with low confidence. Memphis’ season-long passing and rushing balance, Stokes’ recent production and the unbeaten home record give the Tigers the edge. Army’s rushing output, three-game winning streak and Jones’ accuracy make a close finish the stronger interpretation than a comfortable home victory.

The best counterargument is that Memphis’ offensive production could overwhelm this modest margin. Army also has a credible upset route if its runners sustain drives and its kicking game decides another tight finish. Those competing possibilities keep both wagers on hold. The spread is Pass, the total is Pass, and the single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
