Auburn Tigers vs Mississippi Rebels Predictions October 31, 2026

Game time: October 31, 2026 at 12:45 PM ET

Venue: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium — Oxford, MS

The Mississippi Rebels will beat the Auburn Tigers, with a projected score of Ole Miss 31, Auburn 20. Auburn’s protection problems against LSU give the Rebels’ defensive disruption the strongest matchup advantage. Confidence is low, however, and neither Auburn +13.5 (-110) nor the 57.5 total offers a sufficiently convincing betting edge. The official recommendation is Pass.

Auburn Tigers vs Mississippi Rebels prediction and best bet

Ole Miss gets the winning forecast because Auburn’s latest offensive problems line up with a potential Rebels strength. LSU recorded seven sacks and 12 tackles for loss against the Tigers on Oct. 24. That same day, seven Ole Miss defenders contributed tackles for loss against Texas. Auburn’s ability to avoid another game dominated by defensive penetration is central to this prediction.

The best betting decision is Pass. Auburn’s 13.5-point cushion is tempting, but one turnover-free outing from Byrum Brown is a fragile foundation for backing the underdog. Ole Miss also surrendered 34 points at Texas. That defensive result complicates an Under recommendation, even with a projected total of 51 points.

Auburn Tigers outlook

Auburn’s 38-17 home loss to LSU exposed a difficult combination: an early deficit and an offense struggling to move the ball on the ground. The Tigers trailed 31-10 at halftime and finished with 67 rushing yards on 35 carries. Alongside LSU’s seven sacks, those results make offensive stability the immediate concern heading to Oxford.

Brown completed 15 of 24 passes for 160 yards in a turnover-free performance. Protecting possession was a positive, but that passing line did not translate into enough scoring to keep Auburn close. It would be too generous to treat ball security as proof that the Tigers can handle another disruptive defense. They still need productive possessions.

The practical task is to keep negative plays from dictating entire series. Better protection would give Brown a chance to turn completions into sustained drives, while a more productive rushing game could reduce the burden on the passing attack.

Auburn’s competitive scenario rests on those improvements. The Tigers can cover without winning, but their latest performance leaves substantial uncertainty about how reliably they can score. Brown’s clean turnover result is encouraging counterevidence to a runaway forecast, rather than a compelling reason to buy the points.

Mississippi Rebels outlook

Ole Miss’s 34-27 loss at Texas supplied reasons for optimism and restraint. The Rebels fell behind 24-3 at halftime, then pulled level at 24-24 early in the fourth quarter. The comeback showed they could recover within that game, but the opening deficit matters when assessing a favorite asked to win by nearly two touchdowns.

Trinidad Chambliss completed 25 of 52 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Ole Miss totaled 363 yards, with 113 rushing yards accompanying the passing production. His third-quarter touchdown pass extended his streak of games with a passing touchdown to 20. That continuity supports the scoring forecast, although fewer than half of his attempts against Texas were completions.

Defensively, Jalyn Crawford intercepted two passes as Ole Miss forced three turnovers. The Rebels had five interceptions over their previous three games, according to the team’s Oct. 25 follow-up. Kam Franklin recorded 2.0 tackles for loss against Texas, Blake Purchase added 1.5, and Franklin’s sack brought his season total to 2.0.

Those contributions suggest several possible sources of disruption against Auburn. Still, Texas gained 419 yards. The takeaways were valuable, but the yardage and points conceded keep this from being a confident forecast of defensive control.

Key matchup factors

Negative plays matter here because they can separate possession from production. Brown avoided turnovers against LSU, yet Auburn scored only 17 points. Ole Miss can strengthen its winning position by forcing stalled drives even if it fails to repeat its three-takeaway performance against Texas.

The second factor is how much improvement to expect after both teams faced large halftime deficits. Neither opening half offers a dependable template for controlling this game. Ole Miss demonstrated a stronger recovery, which helps its forecast, but that is evidence from one contest.

Finally, takeaways cut both ways for betting purposes. They can interrupt scoring drives or create favorable scoring opportunities. Their recent presence does not point cleanly toward either total direction.

Auburn Tigers vs Mississippi Rebels spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Auburn +13.5 (-110) and Mississippi -13.5 (-110). The projected 11-point margin falls on Auburn’s side of the spread, but the gap between that estimate and the line is too small for the uncertainty surrounding these teams.

Auburn’s protection issues create a plausible path to a larger Ole Miss victory. Conversely, the Rebels’ first-half struggles and 419 yards conceded at Texas make laying 13.5 uncomfortable. The forecast favors Auburn to finish inside the number; the wager remains a Pass because the case is fragile.

Auburn Tigers vs Mississippi Rebels total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 57.5 (-108) and Under 57.5 (-112). The projected 51 points lean below the line, with Auburn’s recent offensive difficulties supplying the main argument for a lower-scoring game.

There is meaningful resistance to that view. Auburn conceded 38 points to LSU, while Ole Miss allowed 34 at Texas. Defensive disruption might suppress sustained offense, but takeaways could also create short scoring opportunities. Without a firmer expectation for either defense’s scoring resistance, the six-and-a-half-point projection gap is insufficient to make Under 57.5 the official wager.

Auburn Tigers vs Mississippi Rebels projected score

Game forecast: Ole Miss 31, Auburn 20. The Rebels are the pick to win because their recent defensive disruption presents a credible challenge to an Auburn offense coming off severe protection and rushing problems. Chambliss’s touchdown production adds support to the expectation that Ole Miss will score enough to prevail.

The strongest counterargument is the Rebels’ own vulnerability against Texas. They allowed 419 yards and needed a substantial comeback just to draw level. Brown’s turnover-free outing also leaves Auburn a route to a competitive game if its protection improves. Confidence is low. Both the spread and total recommendations are Pass, and the single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
