Baylor Bears vs Central Florida Golden Knights Predictions October 30, 2026

Game time: October 30, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET

Venue: FBC Mortgage Stadium — Orlando, FL

Article updated Oct 26, 9:22 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Central Florida is the projected winner, UCF 24, Baylor 23, behind Keyone Jenkins’ recent passing performance and a rushing attack that can test Baylor after its difficult afternoon at Kansas. Baylor’s stronger season defensive numbers make this a low-confidence forecast. Neither UCF +1.5 (-112) nor the total of 48 (-110 each way) offers a convincing betting edge; the official recommendation is Pass.

Baylor Bears vs Central Florida Golden Knights prediction and best bet

UCF gets the narrow nod because Jenkins enters this matchup after throwing for a season-best 293 yards without a turnover against No. 2 BYU. Pair that performance with Duke Watson’s rushing production, and the Knights have a plausible route to overcoming Baylor’s defense. The forecast is UCF 24, Baylor 23.

The best betting decision is Pass. Baylor allows 16.1 points per game compared with UCF’s 23.0, a substantial counterweight to the Knights’ latest result. UCF also needed double overtime to finish its 39-31 victory. That game strengthens the case for picking the Knights, but a close projected finish leaves too much uncertainty to endorse either spread price.

SportsJaw total: Over 48 (-110); Under 48 (-110). Moneyline: Baylor -115; UCF -105. The prices make Baylor a narrow favorite despite the editorial forecast favoring UCF.

Baylor Bears outlook

Baylor’s season profile gives the Bears a strong argument for winning. Through seven games, they average 425.0 yards and 29.1 points while allowing 340.1 yards and 16.1 points. Their offense produces 278.9 passing yards and 146.1 rushing yards per game. Moving the ball has been more impressive than finishing possessions: Baylor ranks 119th in FBS red-zone offense, scoring on 76.7% of trips. That percentage includes all scoring, not just touchdowns.

D.J. Lagway has 1,352 passing yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions. At Kansas on October 24, he completed 20 of 31 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also led Baylor with 47 rushing yards on 11 carries. The Bears gained 358 yards but allowed 421, including 209 rushing yards, before a blocked 45-yard field-goal attempt with 22 seconds left sealed a 25-24 loss.

Gavin Freeman is the strongest reason to expect Baylor’s passing offense to threaten UCF. He caught nine passes for 123 yards at Kansas, his fourth game above 100 receiving yards in seven Baylor appearances. His national rankings, third in receptions per game and 11th in receiving yards, make him central to the Bears’ chances of exploiting UCF’s pass defense.

Central Florida Golden Knights outlook

UCF averages 32.7 points and 370.3 yards per game, including 163.3 rushing yards and 207 passing yards. Watson has supplied 577 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 85 carries. His production gives the Knights a reason to challenge the ground defense that Kansas tested successfully, although Baylor’s stronger season numbers warn against expecting another 209-yard rushing concession.

Jenkins has 1,099 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns and three interceptions, plus 76 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. His October 24 performance against BYU was particularly encouraging: 25 completions on 41 attempts, 293 passing yards, four total touchdowns and no turnovers. Josh Derry offers another established contributor with 34 catches for 358 yards and three touchdowns.

The defense allows 357.7 yards per game, split between 118 rushing yards and 239.7 passing yards. That makes Freeman a significant concern even after UCF’s dramatic finish against BYU. The Knights stopped four consecutive plays from their eight-yard line in the second overtime to secure the win. They also scored 15 of their 39 points in overtime, so the final score overstates their regulation scoring output. That distinction matters when projecting Friday’s game.

Key matchup factors

The crucial question is whether Baylor turns its passing production into points. UCF’s red-zone defense allows scores on 80.8% of trips and ranks 51st, setting up a meaningful test for Baylor’s struggling finishing offense. At the other end, Watson’s rushing threat could help Jenkins avoid carrying every possession himself.

SportsJaw’s blended moneyline consensus favors UCF -105 at 60% as of October 26 at 13:16 UTC, up 10 percentage points from October 25. That is consensus support, not a 60% win probability or a standalone SportsJaw member preference. It also supplies no direct verdict on UCF +1.5 or the total. Popularity adds context; the football matchup must justify the wager.

Baylor Bears vs Central Florida Golden Knights spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Baylor -1.5 (-108) and UCF +1.5 (-112). The projected UCF victory points toward the Knights, but the strongest season defensive evidence favors Baylor. Freeman also creates a credible path for the Bears to win by more than the small spread.

UCF +1.5 would cover an outright Knights victory or a one-point loss. That protection is useful, but it comes at -112. Jenkins’ latest performance tips the game forecast toward UCF without making the advantage sturdy enough to justify paying that price. A forecast preference alone is insufficient here.

Baylor Bears vs Central Florida Golden Knights total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 48 (-110) and Under 48 (-110). The 24-23 projection totals 47 points, only one below the line. That small difference leaves little room for an extra scoring possession or a different outcome on a red-zone trip.

Baylor’s scoring defense and its own red-zone struggles favor a restrained scoring forecast. Freeman’s receiving production and Jenkins’ recent performance pull the other way. UCF’s 39 points against BYU included 15 in overtime, making that result a poor shortcut to an Over bet. Neither direction earns an official recommendation.

Baylor Bears vs Central Florida Golden Knights projected score

Projected score: UCF 24, Baylor 23. Jenkins’ turnover-free outing against BYU and Watson’s rushing production give the Knights the slight edge in this forecast. Baylor should have opportunities through Freeman, but its red-zone record raises doubts about how consistently those opportunities become points.

The strongest counterargument is Baylor’s defense across seven games, rather than its weaker afternoon at Kansas. If that unit performs closer to its season averages, the Bears can win outright. Confidence is low because the recent results and season defensive profiles point in different directions. UCF remains the projected winner; the spread and total recommendations are both Pass, and the single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
