Florida Gators vs Missouri Tigers Predictions October 3, 2026

Game time: October 3, 2026 at 3:30 PM ET

Venue: Memorial Stadium — Columbia, MO

Article updated Sep 28, 12:09 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Florida will beat Missouri 31-27 in our forecast, with the Gators’ productive rushing attack providing the strongest reason after a 302-yard performance against Ole Miss. Missouri’s passing combination of Austin Simmons and Cayden Lee makes a close finish credible. Neither Florida -4.5 nor the 56.5 total offers enough separation from this low-confidence projection to justify an official wager. The best bet is Pass.

Florida Gators vs Missouri Tigers prediction and best bet

Florida gets the nod because its ground production extends beyond one strong afternoon. The Gators averaged 272.5 rushing yards across their first two SEC games, including the September 26 win over Ole Miss. That gives them a persuasive starting point for attacking Missouri without asking Aaron Philo to carry the offense through the air.

The forecast is Florida 31, Missouri 27, with Pass as the official betting recommendation. Missouri brings a credible passing threat and a defender coming off a disruptive performance in Daeden Hopkins. Those strengths make Florida’s winning margin harder to trust than its chances of winning. The spread and total both require more conviction than this matchup warrants.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Kickoff: Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. ET. Venue: Memorial Stadium, Columbia, Missouri. Broadcast: ABC.

Records: Florida is 4-0 overall, 2-0 SEC. Missouri is 3-1 overall, 0-1 SEC.

SportsJaw odds: Florida -204 moneyline and -4.5 (-110); Missouri +170 moneyline and +4.5 (-108). Total: Over 56.5 (-110), Under 56.5 (-108).

Weather: The September 24 forecast lists clouds, a daily high of 81°F, low of 67°F, 4% precipitation chance and 4 mph wind. Those are advance forecast conditions, subject to change.

Florida Gators outlook

Florida beat Ole Miss 52-28 on September 26 behind substantial contributions from both featured runners. Jadan Baugh carried 29 times for 142 yards and three touchdowns. Duke Clark added 126 yards and a touchdown on 12 attempts. Baugh handled the larger workload, while Clark supplied considerable production with fewer opportunities. Missouri must prepare for both rather than focus its attention on one runner.

The Gators finished with 302 rushing yards and 498 total yards. Across two SEC games, they averaged 48.0 points and 466.5 total yards. That is an encouraging conference start under first-year head coach Jon Sumrall, although two games remain a small sample for predicting another opponent’s response.

Philo completed 16 of 23 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown against Ole Miss and also scored on the ground. A similar supporting contribution could be enough if Florida keeps its rushing game productive. Defensively, the Gators forced two second-half turnovers, including Jayden Woods’ sack-fumble.

Vernell Brown III left that game with a first-half knee injury and did not return. His availability for Missouri remains uncertain. The forecast rests primarily on Florida’s rushing production, with no assumed contribution from Brown.

Missouri Tigers outlook

Missouri’s 31-24 loss at Mississippi State on September 26 came with an encouraging passing performance. Austin Simmons completed 23 of 39 attempts for 295 yards and three touchdowns. Cayden Lee accounted for 11 catches, 156 yards and two scores. Their connection is the clearest reason to expect Missouri to challenge Florida even if the Gators establish their ground game.

Jamal Roberts carried 26 times for 95 yards. That workload shows Missouri continued to use its running game, but his production was less convincing than the passing output. If Florida takes a lead, Simmons and Lee look like the strongest route back into the contest. That is a matchup judgment based on the latest game, rather than an assumption that Missouri must abandon the run.

Hopkins recorded 3.5 sacks against Mississippi State. His performance gives Florida a reason to avoid obvious passing situations, though sacks alone say little about Missouri’s ability to contain Baugh and Clark.

The Tigers return to Memorial Stadium for Homecoming. Missouri leads the series 7-6 and is 4-2 against Florida in Columbia, including a 33-31 victory in 2023. That history adds context, but the current passing attack carries more weight in this forecast than earlier meetings.

Key matchup factors

The key interaction is Florida’s rushing success against Missouri’s opportunity to pressure Philo. If Baugh and Clark keep Florida out of long-yardage situations, Hopkins may have fewer favorable chances to pursue the quarterback. If Missouri stalls the run, Florida could need a larger passing contribution than Philo supplied against Ole Miss.

At the other end, Lee’s heavy involvement gives Florida a clear coverage priority. Limiting his impact would put more responsibility on Missouri’s other options. Florida’s two takeaways last week offer another possible route to separation, but repeating those turnovers is a less dependable forecast assumption than expecting the Gators to feature their productive runners.

Florida Gators vs Missouri Tigers spread prediction

Pass on Florida Gators -4.5 (-110) and Missouri Tigers +4.5 (-108). The projected four-point Florida win would favor Missouri against the spread, but a half-point difference between the forecast margin and the line is too slender to justify a bet here.

Florida’s offensive start supports selecting it to win. Missouri’s passing production supplies the counterargument to laying more than a field goal. Neither recent performance gives a precise enough measure of this matchup to turn that narrow projected margin into a confident spread selection.

Florida Gators vs Missouri Tigers total prediction

Pass on Over 56.5 (-110) and Under 56.5 (-108). The 58-point projection puts the scoring lean slightly above the total. Florida’s two-game SEC scoring average and Missouri’s three touchdown passes last week give that lean a reasonable offensive foundation.

There is still considerable uncertainty around possessions and finishing drives. Successful Florida rushing could consume clock, while Missouri’s pressure could end possessions early. Conversely, another takeaway could create a short scoring opportunity. The modest gap between 58 and 56.5 leaves too little room for those competing outcomes.

Florida Gators vs Missouri Tigers projected score

Game forecast: Florida 31, Missouri 27. Florida’s two productive runners and strong opening SEC results give the Gators the better case to win. The projection allows Missouri to remain competitive through Simmons and Lee without assuming Florida will repeat its 52-point performance against Ole Miss.

Missouri’s strongest counterargument is its ability to pair passing production with disruptive pressure from Hopkins. If that combination forces Florida into a different offensive approach, the Tigers can overturn this forecast. Confidence is low because the evidence favors Florida only narrowly once those threats are considered. Both the spread and total remain passes, and the single official SportsJaw wager is Pass.
