Colorado State Rams vs Texas State Bobcats Predictions October 15, 2026

Game time: October 15, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET

Venue: UFCU Stadium — San Marcos, TX

Article updated Oct 9, 1:20 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Texas State will beat Colorado State 35-27 in our forecast, with the Bobcats’ recent offensive production offering the strongest edge against a Rams defense coming off a difficult game. Texas State has topped 500 yards in three straight outings, but turning that production into a comfortable win remains a concern. Neither the supplied spread nor total offers a compelling wager; the official recommendation is Pass.

Colorado State Rams vs Texas State Bobcats prediction and best bet

Texas State is the pick to win, but the best betting decision is Pass. Its sustained yardage production makes the Bobcats the more persuasive choice against Colorado State’s recently exposed defense. That matchup advantage supports a winner more strongly than it supports laying 11.5 points.

The distinction matters because Texas State’s latest offensive performance still ended in defeat. A productive offense can create a favorable matchup without delivering the margin or combined scoring needed to beat a particular number. The forecast favors the Bobcats with low confidence.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Date and matchup: Colorado State Rams at Texas State Bobcats, Oct. 15, 2026, in college football’s 2026 season.

Venue: UFCU Stadium, San Marcos, Texas.

Broadcast: CBSSN.

SportsJaw moneyline: Colorado State +340; Texas State -450.

SportsJaw spread: Colorado State +11.5 (-114); Texas State -11.5 (-106).

SportsJaw total: Over 65.5 (-106); Under 65.5 (-116). These are the supplied prices, with no line movement implied by this preview.

Colorado State Rams outlook

Colorado State lost 56-26 to Oregon State on Oct. 3 at Canvas Stadium, its third consecutive defeat. The most troubling part was the scale of the defensive damage: Oregon State’s 653 total yards ranked second among the largest totals the Rams have allowed, according to Colorado State’s recap.

The Beavers put together five scoring drives of at least 75 yards. Quarterback Braden Atkinson threw for 430 yards and five touchdowns. Those results make sustained defensive improvement central to Colorado State’s chances here, particularly against an opponent whose recent production extends beyond one game.

Colorado State changed defensive play-calling duties after Oregon State scored on its first two possessions, and the recap says Tyson Summers subsequently left the program. That change adds uncertainty to the forecast. The Rams scored 26 points themselves, but one result is a thin foundation for projecting their contribution to this total.

Texas State Bobcats outlook

Texas State’s Oct. 3 loss at San Diego State was a different kind of frustration. The Bobcats gained 565 yards on a program FBS-record 102 plays yet lost 31-29, leaving them 2-3 overall and 0-1 in Pac-12 play. It was their third consecutive game with at least 500 total yards.

Brad Jackson completed 27 of 43 passes for 372 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also carried 22 times for 80 yards. His production gives Texas State a credible route to attack through the air and on the ground, although the interceptions temper enthusiasm about how reliably that yardage becomes points.

Beau Sparks caught 10 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown, his first 100-yard game of the season. Davian Jackson contributed 53 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown, extending his touchdown streak to all five games. Defensively, Texas State limited San Diego State to 239 yards despite conceding 31 points.

Key matchup factors

The strongest connection is Texas State’s repeated offensive productivity against Colorado State’s latest defensive breakdown. The Bobcats have more than a single strong yardage result behind them. Still, the teams faced different opponents, so transferring those performances directly into an expected winning margin would be too aggressive.

The other key is the gap between yards and points. Texas State’s last game shows why neither a large offensive total nor a low defensive yardage total guarantees control of the scoreboard. That uncertainty affects both markets: it complicates a double-digit spread and weakens a simple argument that offensive volume automatically means an Over.

Colorado State Rams vs Texas State Bobcats spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Texas State -11.5 (-106) and Colorado State +11.5 (-114). The Bobcats have the clearer matchup advantage, but backing them at this spread requires a victory by at least 12 points.

Our eight-point projected margin falls short of that requirement. It also is not enough by itself to justify taking Colorado State: the Rams’ defensive problems leave substantial room for a wider defeat. With plausible outcomes on both sides of the number, neither supplied spread is an official play.

Colorado State Rams vs Texas State Bobcats total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 65.5 (-106) and Under 65.5 (-116). Texas State’s yardage streak and Colorado State’s latest defensive showing create an understandable Over case. The weaker part of that argument is assuming how much Colorado State will score.

The projected 62 points sit below the line, but the Under also carries considerable risk if the Rams again allow sustained scoring drives. Texas State’s latest 29-point output cautions against treating yardage as a scoring guarantee. Neither direction offers a strong enough edge at the supplied price.

Colorado State Rams vs Texas State Bobcats projected score

Game forecast: Texas State 35, Colorado State 27. The Bobcats’ offensive consistency provides the deciding advantage. The strongest counterargument is their recent failure to turn a substantial yardage advantage into a victory.

Confidence is low because the evidence is stronger on the matchup’s direction than its likely margin or scoring range. Texas State remains the projected winner. Both market recommendations are Pass, and the single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
