Boise St. Broncos vs Fresno St. Bulldogs Predictions October 10, 2026

Game time: October 10, 2026 at 10:30 PM ET

Venue: Valley Children's Stadium — Fresno, CA

Article updated Oct 5, 1:11 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Boise State will beat Fresno State 27-24 in our forecast, with Maddux Madsen’s efficient passing and the Broncos’ productive rushing attack providing the slight edge. Fresno State’s defensive performance at Washington State makes this a low-confidence prediction. Neither Boise State -6.5 (-102) nor the total of 48.5 offers a compelling wager, so the official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.

Boise St. Broncos vs Fresno St. Bulldogs prediction and best bet

Boise State gets the pick because its October 3 win featured several ways to move the ball: accurate passing from Madsen, rushing production from Dylan Riley and contributions from Madsen as a runner. That versatility is the strongest reason to favor the Broncos in this matchup.

Fresno State brings a substantial counterargument after shutting down Washington State on the road. A narrow Boise State victory is the forecast, but asking the Broncos to win by seven or more is a different proposition. The best betting decision is Pass, with neither the spread nor total offering a persuasive edge.

Boise St. Broncos outlook

Boise State beat Utah State 37-18 on October 3, producing 429 total yards. Madsen completed 17 of 21 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns while adding 42 rushing yards. His passing efficiency is the clearest positive for the Broncos, especially if Fresno State makes conventional rushing attempts difficult.

Riley supplied 93 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Rasean Jones caught five passes for 88 yards. Those contributions give Boise State a plausible route to sustaining drives without asking one player to carry every possession.

The defense recorded six sacks, and Jake Ripp scored on a 21-yard interception return. That touchdown matters when interpreting the final score: Boise State’s 37 points were a team total, not exclusively offensive production. The performance was encouraging, but it should not become an automatic expectation for this road game.

Fresno St. Bulldogs outlook

Fresno State earned its fourth straight victory by beating Washington State 26-6 in Pullman on October 3. The Bulldogs surrendered 182 total yards, including just 30 on the ground, and allowed nine first downs. Five sacks and two forced turnovers added disruption to that defensive control.

Jayden Mandal completed 24 of 33 passes for 245 yards without an interception. Fresno State also held possession for nearly 36 minutes. That combination offers an upset route: maintain drives, protect the ball and limit the number of opportunities Boise State receives.

Josiah Freeman and Julius Gillick each scored a rushing touchdown, and Manaki Watanabe made four field goals. Those kicks supplied valuable points against Washington State. Against the Broncos, finishing possessions with touchdowns would give Fresno State more protection against a late scoring response.

Key matchup factors

The central question is whether Boise State can preserve its offensive balance against Fresno State’s defensive front. If the Bulldogs again restrict the run, Madsen’s passing becomes more important. If Riley finds room, Boise State can avoid leaning as heavily on obvious passing situations.

Possession figures to be contested. Boise State held the ball for 32:14 against Utah State, while Fresno State approached 36 minutes against Washington State. Those results suggest both teams have a route to controlling stretches of play, but possession time alone is not a measure of tempo.

Pressure also cuts both ways. Sacks can end drives, while turnovers can create short fields or immediate points. The recent defensive production strengthens both teams’ cases without pointing cleanly toward a low-scoring game.

Boise St. Broncos vs Fresno St. Bulldogs spread prediction

Pass on Boise State -6.5 (-102) and Fresno State +6.5 (-112). The projected three-point margin favors Fresno State relative to the spread, but that is a modest editorial lean drawn from limited recent context.

Boise State’s offensive execution makes a larger victory plausible, while Fresno State’s defensive showing makes an outright upset plausible. The Bulldogs are the more appealing side with the points, but the evidence is too finely balanced to make +6.5 (-112) an official recommendation.

Boise St. Broncos vs Fresno St. Bulldogs total prediction

Pass on Over 48.5 (-110) and Under 48.5 (-110). The 27-24 forecast totals 51 points, putting the score projection slightly above the line without creating a strong Over recommendation.

Fresno State’s six points allowed last week supports an Under argument. Boise State’s efficient offense and the possibility of turnover-assisted scoring pull the other way. One recent performance from each team leaves too much uncertainty about scoring pace to justify either direction at -110.

Boise St. Broncos vs Fresno St. Bulldogs projected score

Game forecast: Boise State 27, Fresno State 24. The Broncos’ passing efficiency and multiple offensive contributors earn the narrow pick. Fresno State’s disruptive defense is the strongest reason that forecast could fail.

Confidence is low. Boise State is the projected winner, both spread selections are passes, and the total is a pass. The single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
