North Carolina Central Eagles vs Longwood Lancers prediction, odds and best bet for Nov. 7

Game time: November 7, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET

Venue: Joan Perry Brock Center — Farmville, VA

Article updated Nov 6, 10:38 PM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Longwood is our pick to beat North Carolina Central, 78-70, with balanced early scoring and Jaylen Benard’s consecutive double-doubles providing the strongest matchup reasons. The Eagles’ competitive rebounding at Georgia offers a plausible route to a closer game, but neither side has shown enough consistency to justify the supplied spread prices. The official betting recommendation is Pass, including the 148.5 total.

North Carolina Central Eagles vs Longwood Lancers prediction and best bet

Longwood gets the outright pick because its first two games featured several scoring contributors and consistent production from Benard. North Carolina Central has a credible counter in its rebounding performance at Georgia, making a comfortable Lancers victory easier to envision than a confident double-digit cover.

The best betting decision is Pass. Our eight-point projected margin falls inside North Carolina Central +11.5 (-117), but that difference is a modest editorial lean built on very little current-season evidence. It is not enough to make the Eagles an official wager.

North Carolina Central Eagles outlook

North Carolina Central’s November 2 opener ended in a 78-62 loss at Georgia. According to the Eagles’ official preview, Cristian Sanon scored 19 points and made five of seven three-point attempts, while Maurice Vassel and Trey Brown also reached double figures. That gives the offense multiple contributors to build around, although Sanon’s opening shooting performance is a demanding standard to repeat.

The Eagles’ most encouraging result was their work on the glass. Georgia held a narrow 37-36 rebounding advantage, and North Carolina Central won the second-half boards 18-15. That showing makes rebounding a reasonable part of the Eagles’ upset case. It remains one performance, however, rather than proof that they will control possessions against Longwood.

Longwood Lancers outlook

Longwood opened with 123 points against Pfeiffer before losing 82-73 at Saint Joseph’s. Its official preview reports that Alphonzo Billups III scored 17 points in the loss, TJ Robinson and MJ Williams added 14 apiece, and Benard contributed 13. That distribution is the strongest reason to favor the Lancers: their scoring options extend beyond one player.

Benard recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds against Pfeiffer, then 13 points and 10 rebounds at Saint Joseph’s. Longwood identifies those as his first career double-doubles. His repeat production is useful evidence for this matchup, even with only two games played.

The Lancers also made 11 three-pointers in each outing, attempting 42 at Saint Joseph’s. Against Pfeiffer, they forced 27 turnovers, collected 17 steals and scored 42 points off turnovers. Those opener figures illustrate their scoring potential when pressure succeeds; projecting the same disruption against the Eagles would be a substantial assumption.

Key matchup factors

Possession quality matters more here than the headline scoring totals. North Carolina Central needs defensive rebounds to finish stops, while Longwood’s pressure offers a route to extra scoring chances. The Eagles’ rebounding and the Lancers’ turnover production came against different opponents, so neither result settles which team will dictate this game.

Perimeter shooting introduces another swing factor. Longwood’s volume can widen a lead, but 11 makes on 42 attempts at Saint Joseph’s also shows why attempts alone are no guarantee of efficient offense. Sanon’s strong opener gives North Carolina Central a perimeter threat without making another five-three performance the expectation.

Bandwagon’s automated model favors Longwood 77-69, with a 74% win probability, an eight-point model spread and a 146 total. Those are that model’s estimates. Its page also lists a different venue and a 1-0 Longwood record, conflicting with the official previews. We follow the schools’ matchup reporting and give the model limited weight.

North Carolina Central Eagles vs Longwood Lancers spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on North Carolina Central +11.5 (-117) and Longwood -11.5 (-128). Our forecast favors the Eagles to finish inside the number, but their rebounding at Georgia and one strong Sanon shooting night are too narrow a foundation for a wager.

Longwood’s balanced scoring and turnover pressure present a credible double-digit-win scenario. Bandwagon’s eight-point projection agrees with our margin, but agreement between forecasts adds no new on-court evidence. Neither spread price earns an official recommendation.

North Carolina Central Eagles vs Longwood Lancers total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 148.5 (-105) and Under 148.5 (-115). Our projected 148 points sit just below the line, leaving almost no cushion for a total bet.

Longwood’s perimeter volume and potential turnover scoring create an Over route. North Carolina Central’s 62-point opener offers a reason for caution about its offensive contribution. With so few games behind these teams, neither scoring result deserves to become a dependable expectation for Saturday.

North Carolina Central Eagles vs Longwood Lancers Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Longwood 78, North Carolina Central 70. The Lancers’ scoring distribution and Benard’s rebounding give them the stronger win case. The best counterargument is that the Eagles can reproduce their competitive work on the glass and receive another productive perimeter performance from Sanon.

Confidence is low because the forecast rests on a small early-season sample. Longwood is the selected winner, while the official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass. Both the spread and the 148.5 total remain passes.
