Stetson Hatters vs West Virginia Mountaineers prediction, odds and best bet for Nov. 6

Game time: November 6, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET

Venue: Hope Coliseum — Morgantown, WV

Article updated Nov 6, 7:57 AM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

West Virginia will beat Stetson, with a projected score of West Virginia 83, Stetson 62. The Mountaineers’ balanced scoring in their opener, paired with the Hatters’ early deficits through two games, drives the forecast. Neither West Virginia -24.5 nor the 141.5 total offers a convincing betting edge at the supplied prices. The official SportsJaw wager is Pass, with medium confidence in the game forecast.

Stetson Hatters vs West Virginia Mountaineers prediction and best bet

West Virginia is the winner pick because its opening performance offered several productive scoring options, while Stetson has struggled before halftime. The Mountaineers beat Niagara 91-46, with six players reaching double figures. Stetson was outscored 91-49 in the first halves of its games against Clemson and South Carolina, according to West Virginia Athletics’ matchup preview.

The distinction is the margin. Our projected 21-point West Virginia victory falls short of covering -24.5, but that alone is not enough to make Stetson an official play. The Hatters’ early deficits create substantial risk for anyone taking the points. Best bet: Pass.

Stetson Hatters outlook

Stetson enters after losses at Clemson and South Carolina, but its individual production gives the underdog a plausible route to competing. Collin Kuhl totaled 37 points on 60.9% shooting and collected 11 rebounds across those games. Against South Carolina on Tuesday, he led the Hatters with 17 points and added seven rebounds, per the official West Virginia preview.

Transfer Magnus Entenmann averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds through the same two-game stretch. Those contributions matter because Stetson needs more than one scoring option to keep a large deficit from developing. Kuhl’s efficient opening performances are encouraging, although two games are too few to treat that shooting percentage as an established expectation.

The 85-72 loss at Clemson also contained a useful counterargument to a runaway forecast: Stetson outscored Clemson 48-36 after halftime. That response shows why the final margin deserves separate consideration from the likely winner. It does not erase the cost of falling behind early.

West Virginia Mountaineers outlook

West Virginia’s November 2 win over Niagara featured a productive collegiate debut from Miles Sadler. The freshman finished with 16 points and nine assists. His combination of scoring and distribution is the most encouraging individual takeaway from that result, especially alongside five other double-figure scorers.

Brenen Lorient scored 13 points, Martin Somerville had 12, Finley Bizjack and Javan Buchanan added 11 apiece, and Mouhamed Sylla scored 10. West Virginia Athletics’ preview documents that balance; it gives the forecast a firmer foundation than assuming one player will repeat an exceptional scoring night.

The limitation is the opponent and sample. A 45-point victory over Niagara is one result against a different team, not a dependable measure of Friday’s margin. West Virginia is the stronger winner selection, but its opening performance leaves room for several outcomes against a 24.5-point spread.

Key matchup factors

Stetson’s opening stretch is the central matchup question. Its combined first-half deficit reflects a scoring imbalance, rather than proof that defense alone caused the trouble. A more competitive start would let the Hatters benefit from Kuhl’s production without needing another substantial second-half recovery.

The outside forecasts agree on West Virginia winning but split on the spread. Dimers projects West Virginia 83, Stetson 61, and favors Stetson +24.5. ATS.io projects West Virginia 86, Stetson 60, and recommends West Virginia -24.5. The Gambler’s forecast is West Virginia 79, Stetson 62, with Stetson +24.5 its selection.

Those are other analysts’ views, not three confirmations of a betting edge. Their projected margins range from 17 to 26 points, crossing the supplied spread. Agreement on the winner therefore offers much less guidance on which team covers.

Stetson Hatters vs West Virginia Mountaineers spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Stetson +24.5 (-110) and West Virginia -24.5 (-110). Our 21-point projected margin points toward Stetson, but the cushion is modest relative to the uncertainty surrounding these early performances.

Dimers assigns Stetson a 53.0% cover probability, while ATS.io assigns West Virginia a 55.0% cover probability. These are separate model estimates favoring opposite sides. Stetson’s response at Clemson supports taking the points; its repeated first-half deficits support laying them. Neither case is strong enough for the official wager.

Stetson Hatters vs West Virginia Mountaineers total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 141.5 (-107) and Under 141.5 (-103). Our projected score totals 145, giving the forecast a modest Over tilt without making Over an actionable recommendation.

West Virginia’s 91-point opener is encouraging for scoring, while Niagara’s 46 points illustrate the risk of an uneven contribution from the two teams. The outside projected totals are 144 from Dimers, 146 from ATS.io and 141 from The Gambler. Those score estimates straddle 141.5, and they should not be presented as explicit total wagers. A narrow projected advantage is insufficient here.

Stetson Hatters vs West Virginia Mountaineers Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: West Virginia 83, Stetson 62. The Mountaineers’ balanced opener and Stetson’s difficult starts favor a comfortable home victory. The strongest counterargument is the Hatters’ second-half response at Clemson, which warns against assuming an early lead will keep expanding.

Confidence is medium: the winner selection has support, but the limited current-season samples leave the margin and total less secure. Both markets remain passes at the supplied prices. Official SportsJaw wager: Pass.
