Idaho St. Bengals vs Wyoming Cowboys prediction, odds and best bet

Game time: November 6, 2026 at 8:30 PM ET

Venue: Arena-Auditorium — Laramie, WY

Article updated Nov 5, 11:53 PM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Wyoming will beat Idaho State, with a projected score of Wyoming 79, Idaho State 66. The Cowboys’ efficient opening performance and rebounding advantage give them the stronger early case, while the Bengals must improve after shooting 35% in their opener. Neither Wyoming -18.5 (-112) nor the 147.5 total offers a convincing betting edge, so the official recommendation is Pass.

Idaho St. Bengals vs Wyoming Cowboys prediction and best bet

Wyoming is the winner pick, but asking the Cowboys to cover 18.5 points requires a stronger judgment than picking them outright. Their opener offered encouraging signs across shooting, passing and possession control. Those signs favor Wyoming without making a runaway victory the most persuasive forecast.

The official betting recommendation is Pass. Our 13-point projected margin falls short of the spread, while Bandwagon’s independent model expects an even closer game. That makes laying the points uncomfortable. Idaho State’s difficult opening performance also keeps the underdog from becoming an automatic selection simply because it receives a large cushion.

Idaho St. Bengals outlook

According to Wyoming Athletics’ November 4 preview, Idaho State opened with a 94-58 loss at Utah State on November 2 and shot 35% from the field. Improving that efficiency is central to the Bengals’ chances of staying competitive. Another difficult shooting night would leave them relying heavily on stops to keep Wyoming within reach.

MaCarhy Morris scored 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting, while Kenyon DeMuynck contributed 14 points and three rebounds. Isaac Palmer added 10 points on 3-of-3 shooting. Those individual contributions give Idaho State something to build around, although Palmer’s three attempts are too small a sample to project sustained scoring efficiency.

The Bengals’ task is to turn those contributions into a more productive team performance. They can lose this game and still cover, but the opening result makes it difficult to trust that cushion without qualification.

Wyoming Cowboys outlook

Wyoming Athletics reports that the Cowboys beat Regis 95-48 on November 3, shooting 55% from the field and 44% from three. Their 19 assists accompanied that shooting performance, while 19 forced turnovers and an 18-rebound advantage supplied additional reasons for optimism.

Khaden Bennett finished with 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. Parker Gerrits scored a career-high 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Bennett’s contributions across several categories and Gerrits’ efficient scoring were useful features of the opener, though neither performance should be treated as an established season average.

The challenge is carrying that execution into a different matchup. Wyoming’s opener was impressive on its own terms; comparing its margin directly with Idaho State’s loss against a different opponent would overstate what one game per team can tell us.

Key matchup factors

The pivotal question is whether Wyoming can turn its opening possession advantages into repeatable pressure. If the Cowboys create extra chances again, Idaho State will need better shooting to offset them. If those advantages shrink, the gap between winning comfortably and covering 18.5 becomes more significant.

Bandwagon’s Axle 2.0 model favors Wyoming 77-68 and assigns the Cowboys a 78% win probability. Its ratings and home-court framework produce a model spread of Wyoming -9.5 and a model total of 145.5. Those are Bandwagon’s estimates, separate from SportsJaw’s prices and our editorial forecast.

SportsJaw’s November 6 update at 04:47 UTC shows a split: external consensus favors Wyoming -18.5 (-112) at 61%, while the blended leader is Idaho State +18.5 (-108) at 51%. The blend represents 602 estimated combined selections, not observed sportsbook tickets. The SportsJaw community leader is also Idaho State. These figures describe preferences, not the probability that either side covers.

Idaho St. Bengals vs Wyoming Cowboys spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass Idaho State +18.5 (-108) and Wyoming -18.5 (-112). Our forecast points toward an Idaho State cover, and Bandwagon’s projection also falls inside the number. Still, the Bengals’ opening offensive struggles make that a fragile basis for an official wager.

Wyoming has a plausible route to a cover through another strong shooting performance and extra possessions. The price demands a win by at least 19 points, however, and the evidence is stronger for a Cowboys victory than for that particular margin.

Idaho St. Bengals vs Wyoming Cowboys total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass Over 147.5 (-115) and Under 147.5 (-105). Our projected 145 points sits below the line, as does Bandwagon’s separate 145.5 model total. Neither modest difference is enough to make the Under an official play.

Wyoming’s opening shooting raises the scoring ceiling, while Idaho State’s offensive struggles create downside. With each team having played only once, there is too much uncertainty about how those performances translate into this matchup to favor either total price.

Idaho St. Bengals vs Wyoming Cowboys Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Wyoming Cowboys 79, Idaho St. Bengals 66. Wyoming’s opening execution gives the Cowboys the stronger case, but the different opponents and Bandwagon’s tighter projection argue against expecting another overwhelming margin.

Confidence is low because the forecast rests on a narrow early-season sample. Wyoming remains the winner selection; the single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
