Florida Atlantic Owls vs Wright St. Raiders Prediction, Odds and Best Bet for Nov. 6, 2026

Game time: November 6, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET

Venue: Nutter Center — Dayton, OH

Article updated Nov 5, 11:06 PM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Wright State is our projected winner over Florida Atlantic, 76-71, with home court and the Raiders’ conference-title résumé providing the strongest reasons for the pick. Florida Atlantic’s disruptive opening performance keeps confidence low. Neither Wright State -3 (-110) nor the total of 158.5 (-110) offers a sufficiently convincing betting edge, so the official SportsJaw recommendation is Pass.

Florida Atlantic Owls vs Wright St. Raiders prediction and best bet

Wright State gets the pick in this 2026-27 men’s college basketball matchup, but the best betting decision is Pass. The Raiders’ home setting, successful previous season and preseason recognition give them a reasonable advantage. Florida Atlantic’s opening win supplies enough of a counterargument to keep that advantage modest.

The distinction matters at Wright State -3 (-110). Our five-point projected margin favors the Raiders against that number, but a two-point cushion in an early-season forecast is fragile. We would need a firmer view of how these teams match up before making the spread an official wager.

Florida Atlantic Owls outlook

Florida Atlantic Athletics reports that the Owls beat LIU 74-60 in their opener. Kanaan Carlyle finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and a career-high five steals. Florida Atlantic forced 16 turnovers, collected nine steals and outscored LIU 17-6 in points off turnovers. Those possessions were a meaningful part of the victory.

The newcomers contributed substantial scoring: Josh Harris had 15 points, Felipe Quinones added 14 and Milhan Charles scored 12. That gives the Owls more than Carlyle’s individual performance to build on, although one game is too small a sample to assume the same scoring distribution will hold in Dayton.

The practical question is whether Florida Atlantic can generate similar opportunities against Wright State. Turnovers could help the Owls avoid having to match the Raiders basket for basket through longer possessions. That is their clearest route to upsetting our forecast.

Wright St. Raiders outlook

Wright State opened by beating Air Force 102-71. According to Florida Atlantic Athletics’ matchup preview, Dominic Pangonis scored 30 points on 9-for-10 shooting, while Andrea Holden contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds in 19 minutes. Pangonis’ efficiency was exceptional; projecting another performance at that level would be aggressive.

The Raiders also have a broader program résumé behind the opening result. They finished 23-12 in 2025-26, won the Horizon League regular-season and tournament championships, and were selected first in this season’s conference preseason poll.

Kellen Pickett, last season’s Horizon Freshman of the Year, was named the current preseason Player of the Year. Pickett and transfer C.J. O'Hara earned preseason All-League First Team recognition, with Pangonis on the Second Team. Those honors strengthen the case for Wright State, but they are expectations rather than proof of an advantage over Florida Atlantic’s personnel.

Key matchup factors

The pivotal matchup is Florida Atlantic’s ability to disrupt possessions against Wright State’s ability to turn scoring chances into points. The opening games showed each team succeeding in those respective areas against different opponents. They did not test either strength against Friday’s opponent, so neither result should dominate the forecast.

Bandwagon’s Axle model favors Wright State, assigning the Raiders a 67% win probability and projecting a 76-71 victory. It separately lists a model spread of Wright State -6 and a model total of 147. The score implies a five-point margin, so those outputs should not be treated as identical. They are Bandwagon’s projections, not SportsJaw odds or our confidence rating.

SportsJaw’s community snapshot lists Florida Atlantic +3 (-110) as the spread leader at 50%, updated November 5 at 17:31 UTC. That is an evenly divided signal. It offers no strong community endorsement of either side and differs in direction from Bandwagon’s preference for Wright State.

Florida Atlantic Owls vs Wright St. Raiders spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Florida Atlantic +3 (-110) and Wright State -3 (-110). Wright State is our preferred winner, and our projected margin exceeds the spread, but confidence in that margin is low.

Bandwagon’s projection makes the favorite worth considering. The opposing case is Florida Atlantic’s demonstrated ability to score off turnovers, which could erase a small margin quickly if repeated here. With only one current-season result for each team, we are more comfortable selecting the winner than paying -110 to require a victory by more than three points.

Florida Atlantic Owls vs Wright St. Raiders total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 158.5 (-110) and Under 158.5 (-110). Our 147-point forecast falls below the line, matching the direction of Bandwagon’s model total, but that agreement is not independent confirmation of an Under edge.

Wright State’s 102-point opener illustrates the risk to a lower-scoring forecast. Florida Atlantic’s turnover production adds another variable: it could interrupt the Raiders’ offense or create quick scoring opportunities for the Owls. Without a firmer expectation for possession volume and shooting efficiency in this matchup, the total remains a Pass.

Florida Atlantic Owls vs Wright St. Raiders Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Wright State Raiders 76, Florida Atlantic Owls 71. Home court and the Raiders’ recent conference success tilt the selection toward Wright State. Florida Atlantic’s pressure defense is the strongest counterargument, particularly if Carlyle again creates extra scoring chances.

Confidence is low. The forecast is our editorial judgment, with the same score as Bandwagon’s projection, rather than a claim that its 67% win probability belongs to SportsJaw. The single official betting recommendation is Pass. Both the spread and total remain passes at the supplied prices.
