Fla. International Golden Panthers
FIU suffered a big loss when Denver Jones transferred to the SEC to join the Auburn Tigers, as he was the Panthers top scorer with 20.1 PPG. Despite this loss, the cupboard is far from bare as Arturo Dean returns. Dean ended last season as the C-USA Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the C-USA preseason All-Conference team. He will be supported by the returning sophomores Dashon Gittens (6.9 PPG) and Peta Krivokapic (6.9 PPG). The Panthers also brought in several transfers including Jonathan Aybar (North Florida) and JUCO star Okechukwu Okeke (chose FIU over Kansas State, Memphis and Maryland). While FIU finished the season ranked 210th overall by KenPom, they ranked 43rd in pace of play and look to make gains this season.
