Queens University vs Loyola Marymount Lions Prediction, Odds and Best Bet

Game time: November 4, 2026 at 10:00 PM ET

Venue: Gersten Pavilion — Los Angeles, CA

Article updated Nov 3, 11:15 PM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Loyola Marymount is projected to beat Queens University, 82-77, with All Wright’s outside shooting offering the strongest matchup advantage against a defense that struggled to finish its opener. Queens’ scoring depth makes this a low-confidence forecast. Neither the supplied 7.5-point spread nor the 157.5 total offers a convincing betting edge, so the official SportsJaw recommendation is Pass.

Queens University vs Loyola Marymount Lions prediction and best bet

Loyola Marymount gets the straight-up pick at home, but Queens has enough offensive promise to make the margin uncertain. Wright’s shooting background gives the Lions a plausible way to punish defensive lapses, while Aaron McBride offers a returning rebounding presence. The forecast is Loyola Marymount 82, Queens University 77.

The best betting decision is Pass. Queens’ opener supplies an encouraging offensive snapshot and a substantial defensive concern. Loyola Marymount has yet to play this season. That combination makes a narrow Lions win reasonable as a forecast, without making either side of the spread a compelling wager.

Queens University outlook

According to Queens Athletics’ November 3 preview, the Royals opened with a 103-98 victory over Winthrop. They built a 55-38 halftime lead while shooting 22-for-36, or 61.1%, in the first half. Nasir Mann scored 13 points before the break and made three of five three-point attempts during that half.

Jordan Watford supplied the most complete individual performance: 26 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. His 14 points and three assists after halftime suggest Queens has a useful scoring and playmaking option when its initial surge fades. That is a reason to take the Royals seriously, although one performance is not a dependable baseline.

Freshmen Caleb Jones and Nic McLean added 29 bench points. Jones scored 15 on 6-for-7 shooting; McLean had 14 points, three steals and two threes. The concern is at the other end: Winthrop scored 60 second-half points and made 10 threes for the game. Queens protected the win, but its large halftime cushion nearly disappeared.

Loyola Marymount Lions outlook

Queens Athletics’ preview lists Loyola Marymount’s previous season at 15-17 overall and 6-12 in West Coast Conference play. The Lions were selected sixth in the WCC preseason poll. Those results and expectations offer context, but neither supplies a strong reason to expect a comfortable opening victory.

Wright is the clearest perimeter threat identified in the preview. The transfer guard averaged 11 points at Xavier last season while shooting 42.2% from three. McBride averaged 5.6 rebounds and gives the Lions a returning option on the glass. Their shooting and rebounding credentials underpin the home-team forecast.

The unanswered basketball question is how those pieces function together in this season’s first game. Wright’s previous shooting percentage is encouraging, but it is not a prediction of his accuracy Wednesday. Loyola Marymount still needs to turn those individual credentials into enough consistent possessions to outscore Queens.

Key matchup factors

The central tension is Queens’ offensive variety against its ability to sustain defensive resistance. The Royals showed several routes to points in their opener. If they force Loyola Marymount to keep answering baskets, the underdog has a credible path to a close finish or an upset.

Preseason recognition adds context to that challenge. Queens received five of eight first-place votes in the Atlantic Sun coaches’ poll. Avantae Parker was named preseason defensive player of the year, and Parker, Mann and Watford received all-conference recognition. Those honors indicate expectations, not proof that the defensive problems against Winthrop will disappear.

The teams’ conference poll positions also should not be treated as a direct ranking against one another. This forecast rests more on the specific shooting matchup and home setting than on comparing first place in one conference with sixth in another.

Queens University vs Loyola Marymount Lions spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Queens University +7.5 (-115) and Loyola Marymount -7.5 (-105). A five-point projected Lions win falls inside the Royals’ allowance, but that modest difference is too fragile to justify paying -115.

Queens’ scoring offers a plausible cover scenario. Its defensive second half against Winthrop offers an equally relevant warning about a wider defeat. With no current-season Loyola Marymount performance to compare, the projected margin carries too much uncertainty for an official spread bet.

Queens University vs Loyola Marymount Lions total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 157.5 (-113) and Under 157.5 (-108). The projected 159 points sit just above the line, a small difference that does not warrant an Over wager.

Queens’ opener makes another high-scoring game easy to picture, but its exceptional first-half shooting should not become an assumed repeat. Loyola Marymount’s pace and scoring efficiency this season remain untested. The Under is no more persuasive given the Royals’ offensive production and defensive vulnerability.

Queens University vs Loyola Marymount Lions Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Loyola Marymount 82, Queens University 77. Wright’s perimeter credentials and the home setting give the Lions the slight preference. The strongest counterargument is Queens’ demonstrated scoring depth, especially Watford’s ability to contribute as both scorer and creator.

Confidence is low. Queens has played only once, and Loyola Marymount is making its season debut. The winner selection remains Loyola Marymount, while the spread and total remain separate betting decisions. The single official SportsJaw recommendation is Pass.
