Toronto Coming Off Win Over Lakers
A 126-113 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday puts Toronto at No. 7 in the East through 25 games, after winning two of its last three games. Against an LA foe, the Raptors had their own three-headed monster with Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet combining for 73 points, 20 rebounds, and 15 assists. With a 49.1-percent shooting clip, Siakam continues to lead the team in points (24.5), rebounds (8.9) and assists (7.1). The Raptors are averaging 111.4 points per game on 45 percent shooting from the floor and 32.8 percent from beyond the arc, the fourth-worst field goal percentage and sixth-worst three-point percentage in the NBA.
There is, however, a significant difference between the Raptors and the rest of the league in terms of points off turnovers, second chance points (17.9) and fast break points (18.8). The defense is ranked 7 based on rating (110.6) and opponent turnover percentage (17.1). In this all-time series, Toronto has won nine of the last ten games, with an average margin of victory of 9.3 points. Along with Juancho Hernangomez (ankle) and Precious Achiuwa (ankle), Otto Porter Jr. (foot) has been dropped to OUT against Orlando.
With a power ranking of 12, Toronto is ranked #22 in offense (scoring an average of 110.83 per game), #7 in defense (allowing an average of 109.75 points to be scored against them per game) and are 13-12 (14-11 ATS) this season.
