Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets Predictions Today

Game time: October 26, 2026 at 10:00 PM ET

Venue: Ball Arena — Denver, CO

Article updated Oct 26, 8:23 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Denver Nuggets will beat the Golden State Warriors 118-114, with Golden State’s depleted frontcourt and recent transition-defense problems providing the strongest matchup reason. The Warriors’ returning veterans make the margin less convincing than the winner. Denver -8 (-105) offers no clear betting edge, and neither does the total of 233.5. The official recommendation is Pass, with low forecast confidence.

Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets prediction and best bet

Denver gets the pick at Ball Arena, but the best betting decision is Pass. Golden State enters 0-3 and remains without Jimmy Butler III, Moses Moody and Kristaps Porzingis. Its last game supplied a particularly sharp warning: even 17 made threes at 43.6% could not overcome a 27-7 deficit in transition scoring against Phoenix.

That makes defensive recovery central to the Warriors’ chances. However, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are slated to return, with Brandin Podziemski and Al Horford also reported back. Denver faces a different group from the one Phoenix beat. Those returns, combined with Denver’s own injuries, make an eight-point spread a bigger commitment than the matchup merits.

SportsJaw total: Over 233.5 (-110); Under 233.5 (-110). Availability: Curry and Green are slated to return; Denver starting forward Cameron Johnson is doubtful.

Golden State Warriors outlook

Golden State’s October 24 loss at Phoenix contained enough offense to keep this forecast competitive. Yaxel Lendeborg finished with 26 points, nine rebounds, five assists and six made threes. De’Anthony Melton added 25 points in 26 bench minutes, while Brandon Williams supplied 20 points and five assists in a spot start. The Warriors had several productive scorers despite resting Curry and Green on the second night of a back-to-back.

The concern is how much that shooting accomplished. Golden State lost despite making 17 threes, with Phoenix winning transition scoring by 20 points. Another productive perimeter performance would help in Denver, but the Warriors need fewer easy opportunities going the other direction. One game identifies a problem to watch, rather than proving a season-long defensive pattern.

Availability complicates that correction. Butler is out following right ACL surgery, Moody following left patellar-tendon surgery, and Porzingis because he is not with the team. Gui Santos is questionable with left knee tendinitis. Williams and Charles Bassey are probable. Sports Illustrated reports thin forward and center depth and notes Graham Ike has started two of three games. The returning veterans offer options, but the rotation still has meaningful gaps.

Denver Nuggets outlook

Denver enters 0-0 after recovering from a 23-point deficit to beat New Orleans in overtime. The comeback is encouraging evidence of a successful response within that game. The deficit is also a reason to resist treating the Nuggets as an automatic comfortable winner. Their latest result included both a substantial struggle and a recovery, which fits a cautious forecast better than an aggressive spread recommendation.

Denver’s injury list adds another complication. The NBA’s 7:45 a.m. ET report lists Cameron Johnson as doubtful with a right ankle sprain. Alpha Diallo is doubtful with a right wrist sprain/personal reasons. Spencer Jones is out for bilateral hamstring injury management, and Julian Strawther is out with a left knee sprain. Johnson’s designation leaves a starting forward’s availability in doubt; it is not confirmation that he will miss the game.

Playing at Ball Arena against a winless opponent with frontcourt absences gives Denver the preferred position here. Still, that case has limits. Golden State’s returning players and its recent scoring contributions create a plausible close-game scenario. Denver must turn the visitors’ availability problems into an advantage on the court, and its comeback victory alone is no guarantee of another win.

Key matchup factors

The key interaction is Golden State’s returning personnel against its unresolved depth concerns. The Phoenix transition deficit matters, but projecting an identical defensive performance with several players returning would be too harsh. Denver’s doubtful forwards also weaken any assumption that only the visitors face rotation disruption.

SportsJaw’s October 26 consensus update at 12:16 UTC shows Denver -8 (-105) leading the blended spread view at 80%. The community leader is also Denver, at 58%, matching the qualified-handicapper percentage. These measure selection preference, not Denver’s chance of covering. The agreement favors Denver sentimentally, but it supplies no independent answer to whether laying eight points is worth the price.

Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Denver -8 (-105) and Golden State +8 (-115). The projected four-point Denver win falls inside Golden State’s allowance, but that forecast is too fragile to turn into a Warriors wager.

Golden State’s returns argue against laying a large number. Its absences and recent transition problems argue against confidently taking the points. Denver’s own availability questions add uncertainty on both sides. Neither the consensus preference for Denver nor a projected margin smaller than eight supplies enough additional support to justify paying either spread price.

Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 233.5 (-110) and Under 233.5 (-110). The 118-114 forecast totals 232, just 1.5 points below the line. That small difference is not a persuasive Under edge.

Golden State’s Phoenix shooting and returning players leave room for more scoring; its defensive issues also threaten an Under. Conversely, one strong shooting night offers a thin foundation for an Over. The blended total consensus favors Over at 56%, with community and qualified-handicapper support each at 80%. Those preferences do not replace a stronger scoring case.

Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets projected score

Game forecast: Denver Nuggets 118, Golden State Warriors 114. Denver is the projected winner because Golden State brings both significant absences and a recent defensive problem into Ball Arena. The strongest counterargument is the Warriors’ returning group, supported by scoring contributions from Lendeborg, Melton and Williams in Phoenix.

Confidence is low. Denver’s 23-point deficit before its comeback and Johnson’s doubtful status temper the home-team case, while Golden State’s changing rotation makes its last performance an imperfect guide. The forecast favors Denver in a competitive game. Both spread prices and both sides of 233.5 remain a Pass, and the single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
