The Brewers are coming off a 4-3 win over the Cardinals. The Brewers are also first placed in NL Central and this is a testament to their overall good record. Take the Brewers to win and cover.

After losing six in a row, the Royals had a shot at victory by winning 3-2 against the Twins but I think they'll lose this one.

Overall, the Royals have been struggling and while they have lost 23 out of 32, the Twins have won exactly the same number of matches. Therefore, I'm confident that the Twins will return to winning ways here and also cover the spread.

The Marlins are on a free fall after losing 5 out of their last 6 matches and I don't there's a reprieve for the side in this match. Meanwhile, the Braves are faring better despite having lost their previous match 4-1 to the Phillies. They have good talent in their ranks, enough to get a win against an underperforming Marlins side.

There Tigers could be dreaming of establishing some momentum after winning the last two matches 4-2 and 4-3 against the Twins and Guardians respectively. Overall, Detroit Tigers (16-28) are not the most dependable of sides but they are facing an equally lowly rated opponent and thus have a chance of repeating last game's heroics. Take chances with the Tigers to cover the spread.

The Giants condemned New York to two consecutive losses in the last two matches but the Mets should return to winning ways against the Phillies.

Already, the Mets have beaten the Phillies on 6 out of 9 occasions this season. The Phillies may be coming off a win but had lost the preceding two matches to the Braves. They will keep the game close but the Mets should take control of the match and force a win.

The Red Sox will surely beat the Orioles. Boston is coming off a huge 16-7 win against White Sox and in total now has 6 wins in the last 7 matches. They have also won all their last 5 home matches and this spells trouble for the Orioles who are staring at the third consecutive loss. Therefore, take Boston to win and cover.

The pirates are coming off a huge 10-5 win over the Rockies but I don't think they are potent of terrorizing San Diego. The Padres have lost the last two matches in the previous series against the Brewers but they are without a doubt the more talented outfit here. The Pirates will be in inspired spirits but that will not shake the Padres who are 5-2 in the last 7 matches.

I'm backing the Yankees to shine in this one. They have 5 wins out of the last 7 matches at Tropicana Field and have won all their last 6 matches as underdogs. They are also coming off a commanding 7-2 victory over the Rays and I'm thus backing them to repeat the same in this match.

$100 | LA -1.5
$100 | LA -177

The Dodgers should easily stroll to another win after annihilating Arizona 14-1 yesterday. Overall, the Dodgers (30-14) have been faring well and the side also won all the 4 series games against Arizona in the previous series. Take Los Angeles to win big and cover the spread.

Inconsistency has been the Rockies' second name and they are coming off a 7-3 loss to the equally abysmal Nationals. But I'm backing them to return to winning ways. Still, this remains a difficult match to predict considering both sides have been equally underwhelming in recent times. However, overall, Colorado has more talent, enough to inspire the side to a remarkable win.

$100 | MIA +320

The Heat lost 93-80 in the previous match but don't write them off yet. Several of the Heat star players have underperformed in the last couple of matches which has led to the recent poor results. However, I don't think this is bound to happen in this match considering its importance in keeping the Heat in contention. Therefore, I expect the side to put a spirited fight enough at least to cover the spread and I'm not ruling out a win either especially if Jimmy Butler and co. play to their full strengths.

If the Avalanche won the last game, this would have been a dead rubber contest but they blew a 3-0 early lead to lose 5-4. They will most probably lose this one too.

The Blues are in the right momentum heading into this match after the inspiring overtime win and they'll get a home crowd boost. Their offense is also dangerous after scoring 8 goals in the previous 2 matches. Thus, take the Blues at least to cover the spread here.

The last time the Padres tasted loss was 5 games ago and they should easily beat the Brewers once more after thrashing them 3-2 in the first match.

The Padres will be playing at home and even though the Brewers are 5-2 in the last 7, I doubt they can withstand the force of the Padres who are generally having a remarkable season.

$100 | MIN -1.5
$100 | MIN -215

The Tigers have lost 4 out of the last 5 and lost 5-4 to the Twins in the series opening match. Detroit will probably lose here too.

Minnesota has 7 wins in 8 matches. The Twins will be up against the Tigers pitcher Beau Brieske who has a propensity for losing the long ball, a weakness they'll definitely exploit. Thus, take the Twins to win again.

$100 | LA -1.5
$100 | LA -240

Los Angeles has won 8 out of 9 and after annihilating Washington 10-1 in the last game, they should follow it up with a similar resounding win.

Walker Buehler for the Dodgers is unplayable at the moment having allowed two or lesser runs in 4 out of his last 5 starts. Besides, the Nationals' abysmal home form doesn't help their cause. The side has only 5 wins to their name in the last 21 home matches. Thus another heavy loss might be on the cards here. Take Los Angeles to win and cover.

$100 | ATL -1.5
$100 | ATL -141

The Braves should recover from their embarrassing 7-3 loss in the last match.

The Phillies were bullish throughout that match harassing the Braves into submission in all areas. However, The Braves should find some success against Kyle Gibson who has been abysmal on the road this season.

The Oilers are in a dominant position at the moment and they should win again in this match.

Calgary was on the winning end in game one of this series beating Edmonton 9-6. However, ever since, the Oilers have cruised to 5-3 and 4-1 wins on the bounce. They had exemplary performance in the last match and there are no signs of that stopping in this one. Take Edmonton to win and cover.

$250 | NYR -1.5

So far the Hurricanes are in the driving seat but I'm backing the Rangers to win this one.

First, the Hurricanes are yet to win a road match in the playoffs. Also, they were outclassed and defeated 3-1 in the last match against the Rangers. New York will be playing on home ice and need to win this match to stay afloat in this series. Thus, take the side to win and cover.

The Mavs (0-3) looked battered in game three and I think they are incapable of usurping the Warriors (3-0) from their lead. Luka Doncic is giving his best as always but the lack of a supporting cast continues to pull down the team. Therefore, while the Mavs are at home where they have fared better this season, the dampened moods in their camp won't help their cause. Take the Warriors to crush them further.

$250 | COL +1.5
$250 | COL +114

The Pirates will lose here. They have only one win in the last 6 games and even though the Rockies have had an indifferent run, they are better than Pittsburgh. The Rockies destroyed New York Mets 11-3 before losing narrowly 2-0 to them in the last game. Take Colorado to win and cover.

$500 | ARI -1.5
$500 | ARI -109

Take the Diamondbacks to win. They are coming off a 5-4 loss to the Cubs but they won the previous 3 matches of the series. Also, the Royals are on a 4 game losing streak, and given the struggles in their pitching department, I'm earmarking them for a loss here.

$100 | NYM -1.5

New York Mets to beat Colorado Rockies

New York has been on the winning end in 4 out of the last 6 matches. Meanwhile, Colorado has won 2 out of the last 11 matches. I don't think such an opponent will give enough trouble to New York. Take the Mets to win and cover.

$100 | HOU -1.5
$100 | HOU -185

Houston Astros will trounce the Rangers

In terms of pitching the Astros are ranked second in the entire MLB with a 2.86 ERA while Texas is at the 23rd position with a 3.99 ERA. The Astros have also performed excellently on the grass winning 17 out of the last 21 matches. Here, they'll be against a left-handed pitcher, and against such opponents, the Astros has won 8 out of 9. Thus, expect a dominant performance and a huge win for Houston.

New York Yankees to win comfortably.

The Yankees have beaten Chicago in 4 out of the last 5 matches they have played this season. New York is also coming off a 7-5 win over White Sox in the last game played yesterday. They are on a great spell with 4 wins in the last 6 matches and I don't think Chicago have figured out a way of overcoming the Yankees.

$100 | MIL -1.5

The Brewers will annihilate the abysmal Nationals

For Washington, the story has been all too familiar this season. They are losing so easily and have already been thrashed twice by Milwaukee this series by 7-0 and 5-1 scores. Meanwhile, the Brewers have been in red hot form and have won 5 matches out of the previous 6. The only loss in this run was against Atlanta Braves who are definitely a better opposition than the Nationals. Thus, take Milwaukee to win and cover.

$100 | ATL -1.5
$100 | ATL -110

Atlanta Braves to win

The Marlins have lost three in a row with two of the losses coming against the Atlanta Braves. So even though Miami are a favorite in this one, I don't see why bookmakers think they can usurp the Marlins after two underwhelming performances. Thus take Atlanta to cover.

$250 | TOR -1.5
$100 | TOR -225

The Blue Jays will beat the Reds.

Toronto has been in an indifferent form of late, switching between winning and losing but I don't see that happening against the poor Reds. Overall, Cincinnati is 11-28 and this is testimony to their poor form. Having a young roster is not helping their cause and although they have impressive rookies such as Connor Overton, the team as a whole has been overwhelming. Meanwhile, Toronto (22-18) has thrashed the Reds in both of the first two matches of this series. I expect Toronto to win once more and cover.

$250 | BOS -1.5
$100 | BOS -130

Boston Red Sox should win to continue their remarkable resurgence.

The Mariners have been on a poor run having registered only 1 win in their last 6 games. They've also lost all their last 3 matches against Boston in this series and I don't think they stand a winning chance in this one. At Fenway Park, the Mariners have also had limited success having lost 44 out of 63 matches. Therefore, take Boston to win once more to complete a series sweep.

$500 | LA -1.5
$100 | LA -138

The Dodgers should stroll to a comfortable win.

Los Angeles beat the Phillies twice in this series with the last game ending 7-4. They have also won 7 straight matches and among those wins is an impressive 12-3 victory over the Diamondbacks in the previous series. Tony Gonsolin will be on the hill for the Dodgers and so far he has an excellent 4-0 record which I don't think the Phillies can tarnish. Philadelphia has only a solitary win in the last 6 matches against a right-handed starter. Hence, take the Dodgers to make it 8 wins in a row.

$500 | TB -1.5
$100 | TB -158

I'm picking the Rays to win and cover. The Rays rank 6th in pitching while the Orioles are 18th with an average 3.88 ERA. Tampa Bay is also near excellent with a 1.09 WHIP (2nd best) while the Orioles rank 21st with a 1.29 WHIP. The Rays have furthermore found immense success while playing at Camden Yards winning in 12 out of the last 18 matches. Lastly, Tampa has won 6 out of the previous 8 road matches as a favorite.

My pick: Tampa Bay to win and cover.
