Making College Football Picks
With more than 130 D1 college football teams, the NCAA football schedule can be overwhelming to most bettors. With so many conferences and close to a hundred games played every weekend, the biggest challenge with any college football picks is unearthing those hidden nuggets. We have members in our community that specialize in specific conferences (or teams). We make it easy to get their predictions.
Free NCAA Football Picks Against The Spread (ATS)
The most popular way to bet on college football is picking against the spread (ATS). Against the spread betting isn't about picking a winner of the football game, it's about picking the team who will cover the spread, which is an arbitrary number determined by oddsmakers in Las Vegas with the goal of splitting the action 50/50, so the house is always guaranteed 10% profit on losses.
How betting against the spread works - If you want to bet on Team A covering the spread (wins by a certain amount of points), let's take Oklahoma Sooners -6.5 for example. Or that Team B will cover the spread (keep the game closer than Vegas oddsmakers predict), Texas +6.5. If Oklahoma beats Texas 37-27, then Oklahoma wins by 10 points and covers the -6.5 spread. This means if you bet $110 on Oklahoma -6.5 at (-110), then you would win $100.
Betting against the spread is extremely popular in both NFL and college football. Learn more about how to bet on college football against the spread.
College Bowl Season Picks
The coverage doesn't stop when the playoffs come around. In fact, during the college bowl games is when most touts will tell you there is prime opportunity to take advantage of loose lines. This is due to players opting out of playing in bowl games, injuries, and out of conference matchups that make it hard for Vegas to peg a point spread. Our experts stay on top of our College Football Playoff picks as the season progresses, reacting to the on-field action and the off-field chatter about which teams will become bowl eligible. Check back throughout the season for everything you need to know about the College Football Playoffs.
