The Cleveland Cavaliers, an American professional basketball team located in Cleveland, Ohio, are members of the Central Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Originally established in 1970 as an expansion team, the Cavaliers entered the league alongside the Portland Trail Blazers and Buffalo Braves. Initially, home games were hosted at Cleveland Arena from 1970 to 1974, followed by the Richfield Coliseum from 1974 to 1994. Since 1994, the Cavaliers have proudly called Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland their home, a venue they share with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League. The team has been under the ownership of Dan Gilbert since March 2005.
