Silver Seven: Dzingel Scores In Overtime to Lift Senators Past Penguins, 2-1
This game could have marked a huge milestone in the Sens' existence as a franchise.
Right before puck drop, TSN1200 tweeted out an announcement that shook the entire foundation of this fanbase:
Yes, after 29 games of truly horrendous play that dragged down absolutely everyone around him, it looked like the legendary Tom Pyatt was finally going to sit out a game.
He didn't sit out the game.
Maybe Boucher had a change of heart, or maybe he has some really great blackmail material on the guy, but whatever the reason, the coach decided to scratch Christian Jaros in his stead.

Consensus betting prediction from the Covers.com community:
Pittsburgh Penguins (68% consensus). Persistent rumors have spurred talk about Phil Kessel's days being numbered in the Steel City, but that hasn't stopped the 31-year-old from producing this season. Fresh off a four-point performance (two goals, two assists) that tied him with Evgeni Malkin for the team lead in scoring, Kessel looks to continue his hot streak on Saturday as the Pittsburgh Penguins open a three-game road trip versus the Ottawa Senators... http://bit.ly/2B29ghx

PensBurgh: Pittsburgh Penguins @ Ottawa Senators 12/8/2018: preview, lines, how to watch
Who: Pittsburgh Penguins (12-10-5) @ Ottawa Senators (12-14-3)
I had this long preview typed up and then the draft cleared. Oof, tough one to come back through, so here's an abbreviated and half-assed effort for your Saturday afternoon.
The Ottawa Senators are on a two-game losing streak, dropping both ends of a home-and-home this week with the Montreal Canadiens. Both were by an identical 5-2 score.
Ottawa does have a pretty strong 9-5-2 home record though, including a Saturday night win over the Pens 6-4 a couple of weeks ago.
-Matt Duchene was on pace for a 96 point season, which would have crushed his career-high of 70.

Betting Prediction for Pittsburgh Penguins vs Ottawa Senators on December 08, 2018, 7:00 PM ET
Free Betting Prediction: Ottawa will WIN and the Total will go Under .
The Ottawa Senators host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Hockey Night in Canada and they'll be without leading scorer Matt Duchene and veteran Bobby Ryan, both ruled out potentially long-term earlier today. With that, Sidney Crosby and the suddenly surging Penguins may very well have their way with the Sens tonight. Pittsburgh is a huge moneyline favorite but there's value on the -1.5 puck line.
