Broad Street Hockey: Flyers 4, Blackhawks 0: Gone streaking
We're back, folks! Our first Saturday home game in a hot second was a good one, as the Flyers continued their homestand, meeting the struggling Chicago Blackhawks and dispatched of them with relative ease. As we've been saying of the last couple games, this one too got a little bit weird. But hey, a shutout's a shutout, and we'll certainly take it. We're not spending our weekend grumbling about an ugly Flyers loss. That's good stuff, friends.

1. Not a stellar start
We were really excited after Thursday's game, because after spending much of the early season to date and bemoaning the slow starts, they finally cleaned things up and got themselves a two goal lead early in that one.
Fansided: Travis Konecny a player to watch for Philadelphia Flyers vs Blackhawks
Coming off a miraculous 5-4 overtime victory over the Coyotes on Monday night, the Philadelphia Flyers will host the Chicago Blackhawks hoping to earn their third win in-a-row.
The Blackhawks recently fired longtime Head coach Joel Quenneville, and are riding a six game losing streak coming into this game. This is a team the Flyers should beat, as they've struggled to find their footing so far this year.
Chicago is tied 29th in the league with the Flyers in total Goals-Against, allowing 60 on the season.
Fansided: Brian Elliott and the Philadelphia Flyers shutout Chicago 4-0
Entering their second game of a five game home-stand, the Philadelphia Flyers hosted the Chicago Blackhawks hoping to earn their ninth win of the season.
Former Flyers defenseman Brandon Manning returned to face his old team for the first time, having two points (1 Goal, 1 Assist) in 13 games coming into the matchup.
Brian Elliott started in-net after an 18 save performance in relief of Calvin Pickard in Monday's win over the Arizona Coyotes. Corey Crawford opposed Elliott for the Blackhawks.
Philly.com: Flyers and Claude Giroux stay hot in win over Blackhawks
With Giroux supplying a goal and two assists, the Flyers extended their unbeaten streak to six games after Saturday's 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers (9-7-1) are 5-0-1 in their last six games and 2-0 on this current five-game homestand.
During this unbeaten streak, Giroux has four goals and seven assists and is a plus-8. In 17 games overall, he has seven goals and 15 assists..
The Flyers got on the board when Giroux scored with 5 minutes, 4 seconds left in the first period. Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith made an errant pass from behind his goal that Giroux intercepted.
Second City Hockey: Blackhawks lose 4-0 to Flyers in seventh straight defeat
Needing a win in the worst way, the Chicago Blackhawks traveled to a city where they haven't won in the regular season since the Clinton Administration.
It didn't go well.
The Blackhawks lost their seventh in a row, losing 4-0 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon.
Chicago actually carried the play early but failed to turn that puck dominance into a goal (more on that later). And then a Duncan Keith turnover found the stick of Claude Giroux, who isn't one to waste a scoring chance. Giroux made it a 1-0 game with about five minutes remaining in the first period.

Broad Street Hockey: Flyers vs. Blackhawks Preview: Looking to keep the good times rolling
After a thrilling yet oh-so annoying overtime win vs. Arizona on Thursday night, the Flyers look to win two in a row over the Chicago Blackhawks in today's Saturday matinee. In their last five games, the Flyers have acquired nine out of a possible 10 points and all of a sudden sit just two points out of a tie for first in the Metropolitan Division. Sure, that is mostly due to the sheer lack of competence in the Metro, but hey, we'll take what we can get.
Flyers vs. Blackhawks
Second City Hockey: Jeremy Colliton seeks first win as Blackhawks visit Flyers
For Jeremy Colliton to pick up his first NHL career coaching win he'll have to overcome the Blackhawks' mysterious 22-year-old regular-season losing streak in Philadelphia. Chicago has dropped 14 consecutive regular-season games since Nov. 9, 1996, in the city of Brotherly Love.
The Blackhawks' lone win since 1996 came in Game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Final when Patrick Kane scored the Cup-clinching goal in overtime to end the franchise's championship drought.
Colliton will be behind the bench for a second time since the Blackhawks fired three-time Stanley Cup winner Joel Quenneville.
Consensus betting prediction from the Covers.com community:
Philadelphia Flyers (68% consensus). The Philadelphia Flyers had enjoyed a run of good fortune (4-0-1) to move over .500 for the first time since winning their season opener while the Chicago Blackhawks have reversed course with an 0-5-1 mark to take the starch out of a fast start. The Flyers bid to continue both their recent ascent as well as their long-standing regular-season home dominance of the Blackhawks on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center... http://bit.ly/2B29ghx
