Fansided: Vancouver Canucks: 3 takeaways from 4-3 loss to Buffalo Sabres
Over the past three years, we've seen the Vancouver Canucks blow plenty of multi-goal and/or third period leads, which is always expected when you're engaged in a rebuild.
But Saturday's 4-3 matinee shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres stings a lot more than any other we've seen throughout the years. Without All-Star forward Brock Boeser, the Canucks nearly defeated a red hot Buffalo team on the road. This would have been arguably their biggest feel-good victory of the young season.
As the clock winded down to the final minutes, however, the Canucks began playing like the team that was rebuilding two or three years ago.

Consensus betting prediction from the Covers.com community:
Vancouver Canucks (60% consensus). The Vancouver Canucks barely avoided finishing at the bottom of the Western Conference in 2017-18, but they are among the league's early-season surprises and sitting atop the Pacific Division. The Canucks have earned points in five straight games and will look to extend their run on Saturday afternoon when they visit the Buffalo Sabres in the third stop of a six-game road trip... http://bit.ly/2iFIXms

Nucks Misconduct: PREVIEW: Game 18 - Vancouver Canucks @ Buffalo Sabres
Where: KeyBank Center, Buffalo, NY
When: 10:00 am PST
Where to Watch: All Sportsnet Networks
Prior to Thursday's matchup, all of the talk was about Brad Marchand potentially going after Elias Pettersson. Well, that storyline was inconsequential, and so were both players for most of the game. Instead, the rest of the Canucks stepped up to net eight goals against the Boston Bruins.
In an unbelievably weird game on Thursday night, the Canucks chased the league's save percentage leader from the crease and scored eight, with none coming from Pettersson.
