Im taking the Predators here. Both teams were stifled offensively in their last contest after stringing together a few wins. The Jets were blanked while Nashville mustered just one goal in their loss. Winnipeg has struggled to keep the puck out of their net and getting blitzed by the Golden Knights didnt inspire a ton of confidence. Rinne has been sharp for Nashville of late, blanking Toronto and then holding Pittsburgh to one goal before losing in the shootout. The Predators are better on the defensive end of the ice and that helps them claw out a win.

On the Forecheck: Winnipeg Jets 5, Nashville Predators 0: Just Be Glad It's Over
The Nashville Predators turned in a sub-par effort against the Winnipeg Jets. Here's what happened.
The first period was fast and furious. Both teams had several incredible chances. However, the Predators were lucky to have Pekka Rinne on their side...and Pekka Rinne was lucky to have the post on his. The Jets can count themselves lucky that Ryan Johansen decided to try a centering pass to Viktor Arvidsson as Connor Hellebuyck was exiting the blue paint. After the first frame, the teams were still 0-0.
The second period seemed to start off on the right foot for the Predators as Calle Jarnkrok scored off of a deflection from a point shot from Mattias Ekholm.
On the Forecheck: Nashville Predators vs. Winnipeg Jets Preview: This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race
One of the many reasons that GM David Poile picked up Wayne Simmonds (and Brian Boyle) was to contend against the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets sit two points above Nashville in the Central rankings.
The Predators have points in their last four games, taking just one point against the Penguins on Thursday.
Ryan Ellis has set a career-high in points this season. Ryan Johansen still leads the team in points with 60 (11 goals, 49 assists). Filip Forsberg is creeping closer to 30 goals on the season; he has 26 goals and 20 assists.
