San Francisco 49ers 10-2 (7-4-1 ATS) are playing New Orleans Saints 10-2 (8-4 ATS) on Dec 8, 2019, 1:00pm ET at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Saints opened at -3 in Vegas and the current line is NO -2.5.
S.F. heads home to recoup after a hard fought battle against the Ravens which came down to the final seconds in which Ravens kicker J. Tucker nails the game winner. Like most teams, the 49ers couldn't contain lethal running qb L. Jackson when it mattered most but not many teams have. This loss and the Seahawks triumph Monday night win against the Vikings now has them sitting 2nd in the NFC west even with an identical record. S.F. did cover the Ravens game. S.F. is 2nd in the league in scoring almost 30 pts/gm. With the three headed rushing attack of Breida, Coleman and don't sleep on Mostert has the 49ers 2nd in the NFL in rushing pounding the ground for 148 yds/gm. Now headed to face another physical playoff caliber team back to back weeks might be too much even for a good team like the 49ers. Led by QB J. Garoppolo and TE Kittle who's caught for 687 yds. RB Coleman does have 6 rushing tds. S.F does have a great front four and CB Richard Sherman has been playing smart football. The 49ers do have a great chance to win this game and catch up with the Seahawks for the division and even battle for the #1 seed in the conference.
N.O. comes home after beating the Falcons 26-18 on Thanksgiving day. They did cover the spread. The Saints already clinched the NFC south with that win and the Panthers losing. This gives the Saints a great chance to beat a team who they are battling for the #1 Seed. D. Brees has been phenomenal and his favorite target M. Thomas has been lights out. Thomas has 110 catches and 1,290 yds receiving. RB A. Kamara has over 1,000 total yards. The Saints defense is stingy and CB M. Lattimore has been on a tear defending the opposing teams best receivers. The Saints hosting the 49ers will be the game of the week for sure. The Saints avg almost 25 pts/gm and 361 total yds. This will be hard for any team to stop even a great defensive team like S.F.

Betting Prediction and Pick:
This will be a great showdown. Two of the best teams in the NFL will square up which will have the hype of a playoff game. S.F. is coached really well. They have a balanced offense and a great defense. The Saints have future hall of famer QB Drew Brees and arguably the best WR in Michael Thomas. All that with a great running back in Alvin Kamara and they play at home has me rolling with the Saints by a FG. This should be a close game all the way through. The Saints also had a few extra days to heal and prepare which gives them a slight advantage.
The officiating on this game has been sickening. Why is it every week we witness the refs dictating the games instead of the teams. We're all so accustomed to watching this every week that it's no longer talked about. What a disgrace.
Watching this line move in favor of S.F. I wish I had waited to get this Saints -1.5 maybe even at -1. The Saints are no slouch. CB Lattimore will shut down teams best WR which SF has none of. Saint's are the better team and at home. Playoff seeding for #1 starts here. SF will become one dimensional and Garoppolo will not win you the game. Saints win and cover today.
I like the 49ers on the road as underdogs here. I think Brees is a shell of himself and this 49ers Defensive line will get after him all day. I also think the 49ers LB's are good enough to cover Kamara and Cook for the Saints. Gimme Jimmy G as the dog in this spot
New Orleans is short-handed today and I think it will be a factor. Drew Brees and the offense will have some early success, but the 49er defense will get things figured out in the second half and will limit the Saints the rest of the way. The ground game will look like its old self and we will see big plays from Kittle, Sanders, Samuel, and a couple of big screen plays from Juszczyk and Breida. The defense will force a late turnover and the offense will run the clock out. I like San Francisco to bounce back here against the short handed Saints. Score prediction: 49ers 27, Saints 20

Drew Brees hosts Jimmy G and the 49ers @ the Mercedez Superdome.
Saints are (8-4 ATS)
49ers are (7-4-1 ATS)
No doubt both teams bring a quality offense to the stage. In my opinion, the New Orleans Saints bring a couple more weapons to the offensive game along with a very well experienced Veteran QB in Brees. I expect a great throwdown, hence I will take the over in this occasion, and take the Saints to win at home.
The Saints defense has not allowed a 100+ rusher in 41 straight games. It will be up to Niners RB's Raheem Mostert, Matt Breida, and Tevin Coleman to break the Saints' defensive streak. Meanwhile, The Saints are not sure if LT Terron Armstead will able to return to protect Drew Brees on Sunday because of his high-ankle sprain. I like the Niners to get the Saints off their game.
