The Ravens have looked good at times this year but their defense isn't as good as year's past and the Ravens have folded after their last two-game winning streak, dropping two games in a row in Week 3 and Week 4. Russell Wilson is having one of the best years of his career and the Seahawks defense has been sured up with Clowney at DE. Seattle's defense is also above-average against the run and that's where Baltimore tries to win games. The edge here goes to Seattle's defense, QB play and the home field advantage...Hawks win and cover.

    My Pick: Seattle -3

Fansided: Baltimore Ravens win vs. Seattle Seahawks: Take-home points

Let there be no misunderstanding about it, the Ravens 30-16 road win over the Seattle Seahawks was enormous. It moved the team to 5-2 on the season and a 2.5-game lead in the AFC North as they head into their bye week. It gave them a confidence-building win over a champion contender. And it showed that the defense is indeed moving in the right direction.

Also, it put the rest of the league officially on notice that the team's precocious young quarterback is a handful. For anybody. In any field. Under any conditions.
Let's take a quick look back at some interesting things from Sunday's game.

Field Gulls: Birds of a feather: Seahawks set to take on their most similar opponent this season, the Ravens

The Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens set themselves apart last season as the best running teams in the NFL. There's some rumblings that teams are trying to return to "old school" football; Seattle and Baltimore actually did it successfully. Here's a look at last season as they distanced themselves by nearly ten running yards per game from the next team.

But that's not where the similarities end, not even close. Both teams run the ball well. Both teams strive to play excellent defense (whether Seattle succeeds is questionable - their defensive DVOA last season was 13th compared to BAL's 3rd).

The Seattle Times: New Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters will play 'a lot' vs. Seahawks, says he was 'surprised' by trade

BALTIMORE -- New Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters said he was "surprised" by his trade from the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday, which sent the former University of Washington standout to the Ravens for linebacker Kenny Young and a reported 2020 fifth-round pick.

"I was surprised, but it's a part of the game," Peters said Friday, speaking to reporters for the first time. "You just got to understand these things occur in football, and you just got to handle your business."

Peters, who is on his third team in five seasons, is expected to make his Ravens debut on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Ravens S Thomas respectfully gears up for return to Seattle

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) -- Over the course of nine NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, Earl Thomas picked off 28 passes, earned a Super Bowl ring and was selected to the Pro Bowl six times.

Those are some of the memories the standout safety will take across the country before he faces his former team Sunday as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.

"They gave me my first shot. I won so many games there, grew up as a young man there," Thomas said Wednesday. "So I'm always going to respect that organization and always going to be a part of it.
