The Rams have not played to their expectations so far. The offense is scoring a little less and the defense is giving up more and that is a bad formula obviously. The Rams should still be able to pull this one off but they are fading.

    • The Rams have cost me money this season but I'm going to ride them again here against a ho-hum Falcons team. I like the addition of Jalen Ramsey to the roster and the return of Gurley to the lineup. LA should finally be able to get their offense going against one of the worst pressure defenses in the NFL. Atlanta, meanwhile, can't seem to find much of a rhythm offensively and Goff is overdue for a big game and while LA has burned me this year I still trust them more than Atlanta.

The defending NFC champion Los Angeles Rams will be desperate to snap a three-game losing streak when they visit the struggling Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. LA was manhandled at home by San Francisco last week to fall to 3-3 in the NFC West. Atlanta's in an even worse position, however, dropping to 1-5 with a loss last week in Arizona. The Falcoholic: Falcons vs. Rams: a quick look at the Falcons as Week 7 looms

The Falcons are a desperate football team right now. Desperate. That's the nicest way to put it. In the midst of a 4-game losing streak, it's hard to envision any light at the end of the tunnel. If I had a time machine, I'd be a rich man; but I'd also transport all of us to next season, because I'm merciful, and that's the merciful thing to do. A wholesale regime change is looking more and more like a foregone conclusion as the season wears on.

Without further ado, let's take a quick look at the state of the franchise before tomorrow's game.

The Falcoholic: What if the Falcons win/lose against the Los Angeles Rams

Rock bottom is a cold, dark place. The Atlanta Falcons have been the "get right" team in the NFL this year -- if your team (and especially your offense) is struggling, then it just needs to play against the Falcons to get back on track.

The Rams are probably thanking the heavens that they get to play this abomination of a Falcons defense after getting shut down against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. Jared Goff only recorded 78 passing yards in that game, but he'll have a golden opportunity to "get right" this week.

ESPN.com: Jalen Ramsey practices with Rams, projected to play vs. Falcons

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay said Friday that he anticipates cornerback Jalen Ramsey will play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

"Jalen did a nice job," McVay said after Ramsey's second practice. "We're anticipating him playing."

Ramsey did not meet with reporters Friday, but he offered a "we're going to see" when asked if he would play.

It is yet to be determined if Ramsey, who was acquired in blockbuster trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, will start against the Falcons.

"Those are things that we're still working through," McVay said.

No, I'm not talking about the Goff that throws for 500+ yards.
No, I'm not talking about the Goff that throws for 78 yards

I'm talking about the Goff that has averaged roughly 275 yards per game and had 60 TDs to 19 INTs in his first two seasons under McVay.

Goff will commit ZERO turnovers and throw for two touchdowns with a pedestrian box score, but lead the Rams to victory.

This is all about kicking the Falcons when they're down. Falcons QB Matt Ryan has been prone to turnovers in the past, and Aaron Donald will terrorize him all day.

ESPN.com: Jalen Ramsey practices with Rams, expected to play vs. Falcons

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Rams expect cornerback Jalen Ramsey to play on Sunday in Atlanta.

Ramsey went through a second full practice with the Rams on Friday, three days after Los Angeles acquired the former All-Pro cornerback in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Coach Sean McVay said he's optimistic Ramsey will be able to contribute when the Rams (3-3) visit the Falcons (1-5) at the site of Los Angeles' Super Bowl loss last season.

Ramsey missed the Jaguars' past three games with a back injury shortly after making a trade request.

Turf Show Times: Todd Gurley and Jalen Ramsey make Los Angeles Rams' initial Week 7 injury report vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Los Angeles Rams (3-3) are...going to look a lot different in Week 7 than they had anticipated.

Since Monday they've lost CB Aqib Talib, OG Joseph Noteboom, and S John Johnson III to injured reserve. They traded CB Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens.

And as a result, they'll be seeing new faces -- of both internal and external players.

Rookie David Edwards will start at left guard in Noteboom's absence this Sunday. S Marqui Christian will be stepping in for Johnson.

The Falcoholic: Falcons - Rams: Channel, announcers, tickets, streaming, and more

So here's the skinny: The Rams may well be struggling and their fans might be unhappy with the team, but they're about to play the team that has solved a lot of problems for opposing teams and fanbases over the last few weeks. That, unfortunately, would be our Falcons.

Atlanta's won the last two matchups against this team, including that joyful 2017 playoff stomping of Sean McVay's baby-faced squad, and would love to extend their run to three. To do that, they'll have to put a lid on a scuffling but talented offense and somehow keep Aaron Donald from destroying Matt Ryan.

Turf Show Times: Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons Week 7 Thursday injury report

The Los Angeles Rams are working to piece things back together, having a lost players on both sides of the ball - via injury and trade - earlier this week. They'll head to Atlanta tomorrow in preparation of their Week 7 matchup against the Falcons.

The major storyline this week has been the Rams' acquisition (via trade) of cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who after being traded on Tuesday, arrived in Los Angeles yesterday. He was on the field Thursday, and the Rams are obviously hopeful that they can get him healthy (back) and up to speed extremely quickly.

The Falcoholic: By the Numbers stats preview: Falcons vs Rams

Changes are coming for this Falcons team, who are now sitting at 1-5 and are in the midst of a four-game losing streak. We've seen the offense catch fire over the last two games, scoring 32 and 33 points, respectively. Sadly, it hasn't mattered because the defense continues to give up more than that. It's truly an awful state of affairs when you score that number of points and still find yourself in double-digit deficits every week.

The sledding doesn't get any easier in Week 7, when the Falcons take on the Los Angeles Rams (3-3).

The Falcoholic: Falcons defense vs. Rams offense: Who wins this matchup?

At 1-5, Atlanta is not quite out of the playoff chase, but anyone who thinks they're in it is not paying attention. The Falcons defense is worse than the 2018 version that was riddled with injuries. This team is averaging less than one sack per game and has no sacks or interceptions in the last 3 games.

Now, they get to face a Sean McVay-led offense that will be looking to bounce back after the 49ers beat them at home. Prepare for pain, Falcons fans.

Note: Assessments partially based on PFF scores.

Turf Show Times: Los Angeles Rams at Atlanta Falcons: Week 7 broadcast map

                Non-pictured market coverage: Anchorage, AK - 49ers at 49ers opponents; Fairbanks, AK - 49ers at 49ers opponents; Honolulu, HI - 49ers at 49ers opponents

Well, it's the smallest map for a Rams game this year, and that's not much of a surprise with the Rams on a three-game losing streak playing a one-win team across NFL divisional lines. The home market loses both Santa Barbara and Bakersfield to the 49ers' home market coverage. And yet again, the Imperial Valley won't get the Rams as again they're ceded to Cardinals coverage.

The Seattle Seahawks are the only NFC West home market not in action as they're in the late schedule against the Baltimore Ravens, and they're getting the Niners' game with the division race between those two of primary interest.
