Two of the most prolific running backs in the NFL go head to head, which I expect to lead to plenty of scoring opportunities as both defenses have weaknesses that can be exploited. Carolina and Jacksonville have both played in games topping 50 or more points in recent weeks. Two backup quarterbacks? Two potential starters. 40 points just feels like too low of a total here.

The Jags are only scoring about 19 per game during the "Mania" and the offensive line there is not good. Carolina is an under the radar team because the QB situation but they have a top 3 running game and the defense has been lights out. The Panthers have the top passing defense in the league and they should be able to quiet the hype surrounding Gardner Minshew, who is still nursing a knee injury. Yes, they have to win by more than a field goal, but Kyle Allen has the Carolina offense believing in themselves and I think the home field advantage put Carolina over the top here for me. Battle of the backups. Cat fight. Call it what you like, but Sunday's Jaguars-Panthers clash looks a lot more interesting now than it did a few weeks ago when each team lost its starting QB. Jacksonville's Gardner Minshew II and Carolina's Kyle Allen have each won their last two starts to get their squads back to .500. Original matchup: http://bit.ly/2naq4xx
