Northwestern MONEY LINE - 10 Points? Really?? I just don't understand Vegas sometimes but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Give m Northwester here and don't be afraid to put some on the money line. Yes, the Northwestern Wildcats fell apart last week against Notre Dame, but Notre Dame is a legit Top 5 team and prior to last weekend the Wildcats beat Wisconsin, Rutgers, Nebraska and Michigan State....and not only beat Wisconsin and Michigan State but beat them by 10+ margins. The Iowa Hawkeyes are coming off back-to-back losses, and while they're known as a physical defensive bunch, they have given up 30 or more points in three of their last five games. The Northwestern Wildcats are 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a double-digit underdog. The Iowa Hawkeyes have covered four of their last five games as a double-digit favorite. Iowa has been a little shaky recently, and are in no position to be laying 10 points to this Northwestern team. I predict a low scoring close game, but I think Northwester wins this one by a field goal.

ESPN.com: Northwestern beats Iowa 14-10
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Northwestern clinched bowl eligibility and a spot in its conference title game on the same day.
Only in the Big Ten West.
Isaiah Bowser ran for 165 yards and a touchdown and Northwestern upset Iowa 14-10 on Saturday to clinch a spot in the Big Ten Championship.
The Wildcats will now await their opponent for the league title game in Indianapolis next month. Despite a 6-4 overall record, Northwestern downed the likes of Purdue, Wisconsin and Iowa to reach the top of the division with a 6-1 conference record.
"This team has overcome a ton of adversity," Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald said.
Consensus betting prediction from the Covers.com community:
Northwestern Wildcats (65% consensus). Northwestern looks to take a big step towards its first appearance in the Big Ten Championship game when it visits Iowa on Saturday. The Wildcats control their own destiny with a one-game lead over Wisconsin and Purdue, including the head-to-head tiebreaker over both teams, and hope to stay on course for their first Big Ten West Division title by extending their conference winning streak to five games... http://bit.ly/2C1Yuts

Fansided: Iowa football: Three predictions for Saturday's game against Northwestern
In a weird turn of events, the Iowa football team went from a slightly foggy, but very manageable path to the Big Ten Championship game to stuck in waste high mud in the middle of nowhere. Yet, somehow, the Hawkeyes are still in a very good position to play in a great bowl game this year. Sure, it's not the College Football Playoff (which I still believe the Hawks had enough talent to make happen), and it's not the Rose Bowl, but there are a few fantastic options out there that are very much in the realm of possibilities.

Fansided: Iowa football: How to stream and bet on Saturday's Northwestern game
As we have discussed much of this week, Saturday's contest is an important one for both teams. The Iowa football team is virtually eliminated from winning the Big Ten West after the loss to Purdue, but they still have the opportunity to play in a great bowl game if they can finish this season strong. In a somewhat surprising move, the College Football Playoff committee ranked the Hawks #21 in their second released rankings, meaning Iowa is very much in the hunt for the Citrus Bowl if a few other teams take care of business.
Sippin' On Purple: Northwestern vs. Iowa predictions
Caleb Friedman: Iowa 27, Northwestern 23
Iowa's massive defensive line is going to give Northwestern problems. I think it'll be hard for Northwestern to get the intermediate-to-deep passing game going, and running the ball will be tougher than in past weeks. The Wildcats' defense keeps NU in the game, but but it's not enough. Plus, Kinnick is a tough place to be a visitor.
Matthew Albert: Northwestern 24, Iowa 21
I'm always ambitious on NU (I have picked them to lose once this season honestly because I somehow find ways to make myself believe they'll win, which is exactly what I did going into this week).
Black Heart Gold Pants: Iowa Football Opponent Preview: Northwestern
Las Vegas may view the Iowa Hawkeyes as ten-point favorites in their game against the odds-on Big Ten West champion Northwestern Wildcats, but many Iowa fans are struggling to muster that same sense of optimism about their team. After two consecutive losses functionally eliminated the Hawkeyes from contention in the divisional race, the Iowa program must now adjust to a new set of expectations as they prepare to take on a formidable Northwestern team looking to spoil Iowa's return to the friendly confines of Kinnick Stadium.
The 2018 Northwestern football team is arguably the most "Fitzgeraldian" team fielded during head coach Pat Fitzgerald's tenure in Evanston.
Sippin' On Purple: Northwestern, Iowa and a strange "rivalry"
The story is well-chronicled: when Gary Barnett began as Northwestern's head football coach in 1992, he thought Northwestern needed a rival, and he chose Iowa. Barnett's main requirements for a rival were 1) a high-level program and 2) a team on the Wildcats' schedule for the foreseeable future. The Hawkeyes met both. It was a one-sided rivalry early on, but a rivalry nonetheless.
Iowa beat Northwestern 21 straight times from 1973-1994, but in 1995, in Pat Fitzgerald's second season on the field as a player, the Wildcats beat the Hawkeyes. Northwestern is 11-9 against Iowa since that win in 1995.
Sippin' On Purple: Three matchups to watch in Northwestern-Iowa
Thanks to Iowa's buzzer beater loss to Purdue, Northwestern has a clear path to the Big Ten title game in Indianapolis. Win two of their final three matchups and Fitz's team is in for the first time. The first of those three matchups comes in the form of a test at one of the most challenging environments in college football, Kinnick Stadium. Northwestern visits Iowa having won the previous two contests between the teams. Here are some matchups that will help determine this one.
Northwestern's offense vs. A credible run/pass balance
In recent weeks, Northwestern's offense has either decided to solely focus on running the ball or solely air it out.
