Baylor went two weeks without even practicing and has only played two games because of COVID-19 concerns. But somehow, with a whole new coaching staff and only two starters returning on defense, the Bears are playing better D than Texas. So Im not picking Texas to cover, even though Baylors offensive line gave up six sacks of Charlie Brewer in a 27-21 double overtime loss at West Virginia. The Bears also ran the ball 33 times for just 27 yards against the Mountaineers (who have a better-than-you-think defense), but the inability to run the ball is a concern for Baylor in this game.
Bottom line - Tom Herman is coaching for his job, so I predict the Longhorns do a little better job of finding themselves on Saturday and get the win but it's closer than what Vegas is predicting.

It's hard to get a proper read on Baylor after just two games this season and while Texas has a solid offense, its tough to lay this big of number considering how their defense has looked all season. Baylor has the offensive horses to give Texas some issues this week, its the easier answer, but I like the points.
I don't know if Baylor wins this outright, but they definitely cover. Theres just no way Im laying nine points with Herman and that sieve of a defense. Baylor has had a couple weeks off with COVID delay, and I think they come in prepared for this game. Texas struggled against Tech to stop the pass and Charlie Brewer has a couple of receivers that can take the top off of defenses.
Baylor has no new COVID-19 cases ahead of matchup vs. Texas footballThere's more hope now that Texas football will be able to take on the Baylor Bears, despite last week's COVID-19 scare, at DKR on Oct. 24. https://hookemheadlines.com/2020/10/19/baylor-has-no-new-covid-19-cases-ahead-of-matchup-vs-texas-football/
I like Baylor +9 and TCU +7.5. I can see either of those teams covering and winning this weekend. We think Texas or OU will eventually have a break out game, but as evidence mounts you have to start wondering if these two teams don't just suck this year.
Baylor Bears 1-1 (1-1 ATS) are playing Texas Longhorns 2-2 (1-3 ATS) on October 24, 2020, 3:30 PM ET at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns opened at -10.5 and the current line is TEXAS -11.
The Bears are ranked #27th in offense and 70th in defense and the Longhorns are ranked #1st in offense and 116th in defense.
Vegas has been overvaluing the Bears and been expecting too much from the Longhorns lately.
After crunching 135 data points, CaptainObvious's predicted score is Bears 27 to Longhorns 27.
