BYU Jaren Hall Steps in as new starting QB October 2, 2019 BYU coach Kalani Sitake said Sunday that Hall is "probably going to be" the Cougars' new starting quarterback in the team's next game Oct. 12 at South Florida with Zach Wilson (thumb) likely out until November after undergoing surgery, Jay Drew of the Deseret News reports. ANALYSIS After Wilson exited Saturday's 28-21 loss to Toledo with the injury, Hall was summoned for his first meaningful snaps of college, completing three of six attempts for 39 yards while adding 10 yards on three carries. The redshirt freshman will benefit from BYU's timely bye in Week 6 before stepping into a more extensive role under center, which he'll likely hold for the majority of what's left of the Cougars' schedule. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound redshirt freshman brings intriguing athleticism to the position but won't make for much more than a speculative fantasy option as he prepares for his first start.
I don't like this matchup for BYU considering their QB #1 QB Zach Wilson is out for a while. Jaren Hall is a freshman on the road in a rowdy environment and he doesnt have any experience. Ground game for BYU is nothing great or very helpful either ranking 123rd in the nation and without rushing leader TySon Williams for the rest of the year.
BYU is struggling defensively as well. They are conceding an average of 433 total yards per game, and USF has averaged a sizzling 41.3 points in their last three games. SFU is a decent program despite that 2-3 record and I could easily see them winning. I'm on the moneyline at a small unit play here for the UPSET.

Covers community free betting prediction for BYU Cougars (67% consensus). South Florida saw its potential on both sides of the ball last week and looks to build on that performance against much tougher competition when the Bulls host well-rested BYU for a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon.
