Purdue: Can school ban students, staff from betting on Boilermakers games? - Sports IllustratedIndiana is one of 13 states to have legalized sports betting. Yet, Purdue is trying to change that by not allowing its students or staff to bet on Purdue athletic events. https://www.si.com/gambling/2019/10/10/purdue-sports-betting-ban-students-faculty-legal-fallout?xid=socialflow_twitter_si&utm_campaign=si-ncaafb&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com
Tyrrell Pigrome expected to start at QB for Maryland vs. Purdue - The Washington PostThe redshirt junior has started every season he has played at Maryland but never more than two games in a row. He might get that chance as Josh Jackson recovers from a high ankle sprain. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2019/10/08/its-worst-way-get-job-tyrrell-pigrome-is-again-line-be-maryland-qb/
Purdue has covered the spread in two of their five games this season. The Boilermakers last played Maryland in 2016 when they got punked 50-7. I know Maryland is with their backup QB but I think Mike Locksley is one of the better offensive minds in the conference and this is a good confidence booster for the young QB.
Marylands revolving door at quarterback keeps turning. The diagnosis given to starter Josh Jackson was a high-ankle sprain suffered in Saturdays rout of Rutger. It's not as severe as originally diagnosed and but he is listed as doubtful, but should only miss 1 game. Once again backup quarterback must lead the Terrapins. Enter freshman Tyrrell Pigrome. With Pigrome under center the offensive game plan will remain the same but he also adds an element of elusiveness that will help prevent sacks and give the offense a different dimension. Even with their 3rd string QB, I think Terps offense will be potent enough to move the ball against a thin Purdue defense. Purdue has been hit hard by injuries on both sides of the ball and I think they will struggle offensively on Saturday. The Under 53.5 maybe worth a look with a 3rd string QB and Purdue's injury riddled offense. At the end of the day - I like Pidgrome to be an effective enough game manager and statistically without a 3rd string QB Maryland would be a 14 point favorite. I'm betting Maryland -3 (-120).
Both teams decimated with injuries - I think Maryland has enough weapons to still move the ball even with a 3rd string QB. Purdue is hurting at the running back position and defense has been suspect all season. Lay the 3 points and also like the UNDER 53.5 here with all of the injuries.
Purdue WR Mershawn Rice - Status uncertain for Week 7 October 8, 2019 Coach Jeff Brohm said Monday that Rice's status for Purdue's Week 7 game against Purdue remains undetermined while the receiver battles an undisclosed injury, Mike Carmin of the Lafayette Journal & Courier reports. ANALYSIS The Boilermakers have already ruled out two receivers (Rondale Moore and TJ Sheffield) and could be missing three others with all of Rice, Jared Sparks (ankle) and Milton Wright (undisclosed) dealing with their own respective injuries. Rice's potential absence would be the least notable of three, as the true freshman has yet to record a reception this season.
Purdue's RB Tario Fuller Looks doubtful for Week 7 October 8, 2019 Fuller (jaw) is considered unlikely to be available for Saturday's game against Maryland, Mike Carmin of the Lafayette Journal & Courier reports. ANALYSIS Fuller has yet to make his season debut after fracturing his jaw back in August camp. The fifth-year senior will likely be limited to a depth role out of the backfield if or when he eventually makes it back in action
Purdue RB Richie Worship Looks doubtful for Week 7 October 8, 2019 Worship (knee) is considered unlikely to be available for Saturday's game against Maryland, Mike Carmin of the Lafayette Journal & Courier reports. ANALYSIS Worship hasn't played since the 2017 season due to a setback-ridden recovery from surgery to repair a torn ACL. The running back apparently hasn't returned to the point of practicing fully, so until that happens, he's unlikely to be in the mix for work in games

Covers community free betting prediction for Maryland Terrapins (69% consensus). Maryland looks to build off its blowout win in Week 6 when it visits a depleted Purdue squad on Saturday. The Terrapins, who climbed into the Top 25 after a 2-0 start, bounced back from disappointing losses to Temple (20-17) and No. 9 Penn State (59-0) with a 48-7 win against Rutgers and hope to stay on the right track by posting back-to-back road victories for the first time since September 2016... http://bit.ly/2D09oAo
