South Carolina's Rico Dowdle (ankle) is expected to play Saturday against Georgia, David Cloninger of The Charleston Post and Courier reports. ANALYSIS The running back practiced Tuesday and is trending in the right direction for Saturday after getting some rest over the bye week. Dowdle is South Carolina's leading rusher with 370 yards through five games and will be an important part of the offense against the Bulldogs
South Carolina's Randrecous Davis (ankle) is expected back in action Saturday against Georgia after practicing Tuesday, David Cloninger of The Charleston Post and Courier reports. ANALYSIS Davis appears set for his season debut for the Gamecocks after battling an ankle issue to open the campaign. It remains to be seen exactly how much of an offensive impact the junior will have, but he will at least provide the team with some additional depth at the wide receiver position.
Georgia is better than South Carolina at just about every possible spot on the field. The Dawgs will win the game, but heres why Id take South Carolina to cover.
1. Slow starts - The Bulldogs have a tendency to come out slow. And with this being a noon game, I would not be surprised one bit if Georgia struggles in the first quarter.
2. Kirby Smart does not care about blowouts + Kirby Smart and Will Muschamp are palsand friends dont run up the score on friends
3. The Gamecocks are capable of scoring on offense and staying within earshot. The Gamecocks scoring offense has been inconsistent all season, but when things gets going, SC can put up just enough points to stay within 24. Look what they did against Alabama. The Cocks put up 23 points against the Tide.
Those are a few reasons why Id be hesitant to pick Georgia to cover the spread on Saturday. Score prediction: Georgia 34, South Carolina 13
