Question mark for Friday October 9, 2019 Colorado's KD Nixon exited last Saturday's game against Arizona with an undisclosed injury and is considered day-to-day ahead of Friday's tilt at Oregon, Sean Keeler of The Denver Post reports. ANALYSIS Nixon finished the contest with just one grab for seven yards due to the injury, though he did toss a touchdown pass as well prior to departing. The junior participated in practice Tuesday, but coach Mel Tucker labeled him a question mark for Friday with no clear indicator either way regarding his status. this is a decision that could come down as late as pregame warmups
Laviska Shenault (abdomen) has been labeled day-to-day ahead of Saturday's contest against Colorado, Sean Keeler of The Denver Post reports. ANALYSIS Shenault practiced with the team on Tuesday but remains a question mark for Friday's tilt versus the Ducks due to a core muscle strain. For what it's worth, Shenault was listed as a starter on the depth chart this week, but it's far from a guarantee that he will actually suit up. This situation may not be revealed until the teams take the field for warmups Friday.
CJ Verdell (ankle) is expected to appear Saturday, James Crepea of The Oregonian reports ANALYSIS Verdell was also diagnosed with an ankle sprain, so his presence at practice should continue to be monitored throughout the week. The redshirt-sophmore rushed 10 times for 46 yards before exiting early against Cal last Saturday, and the turnovers by Travis Dye only emphasized his importance to the offense.

Colorado vs. Oregon: Buffaloes open as 22-point underdogs - The Ralphie ReportThe Buffs face a mighty challenge on Friday. https://www.ralphiereport.com/2019/10/7/20902990/colorado-vs-oregon-buffaloes-open-as-22-point-underdogs
Before you jump on CU +20.5, have you know that Colorado have been decimated with injuries on defense. Against ASU and Arizona they lost both corners, a starting linebacker and their starting safety. Things have gotten so thin on defense that 3rd string QB Sam Noyer is playing in the defensive secondary. The good news for Colorado is their stagnant offense is expected to get back Laviska Shenault Jr., as well as KD Nixon and Jalen Harris; and Mustafa Johnson, Mikial Onu and Aaron Maddox are all possible returns as well. Despite having Herbert, the Oregon hasn't been able to get on track this season but I predict they find success agains this banged up CU defense. With CU getting several key players back on offense I expect the Buffs to do enough for a backdoor cover, but the value bet for me here is the OVER 57.5. I predict Oregon wins a 42-24 type of game.
CU's defense is ranked 101st in the country so Ducks will score points but Oregon hasn't really impressed this year offensively. I question if CU's anemic offense can score on the Ducks' 7th ranked defense.

It's still early, but the Oregon Ducks already have a solid grip on first place in the Pac-12 North. They've got a good chance of improving that lead this week when they host a banged-up Colorado squad that has dropped six of seven all-time meetings. Original matchup: http://bit.ly/2IrS3Ay
