The Rams are bad this year and don't have a leader on either side of the ball really. I like the Lobos at home. I don't see us getting the Over here either tonight, just not enough offensive power on either side.
Colorado State dropped to 1-5 on the season following its 24-10 loss to the San Diego State Aztecs. Colorado State gained just 235 of total offense during the loss and only 18 on the ground and has question marks at QB. Neither Colorado State or New Mexico have strong defenses, but with two anemic offenses on the field tonight, I think this matchup sets up for a lower than expected game. The over/under 66 points just feels too high here. Final Score Predictions, Colorado State Rams win and cover ATS 34-27 and the game goes Under 66.

A key matchup will be New Mexico and its desire to run the ball. The Rams struggled to stop the run games of San Diego State and Toledo so how much of this is a weakness against the Lobos? Strength of schedule certainly favors the Rams - Colorado St. has certainly played the tougher schedule other than New Mexico playing and getting throttled 14-66 by Notre Dame. New Mexico loves to run with Ahmari Davis and they should find success in the trenches (and the air) against a CSU defense that ranks 123rd in the country. Coin toss game, give me the 3.5 points with Lobos at home.
Colorado States football team is struggling, and coach Mike Bobo believes poor play at the quarterback position is at least partly to blame. So he announced yesterday that he was opening up the starting job again in practices leading up to Friday nights game at New Mexico.
Redshirt junior Patrick OBrien, a transfer from Nebraska who has started the past three games, and redshirt sophomore Justice McCoy will both work with the No. 1 offense in practice this week, and Bobo said both could see playing time against the Lobos.
Only one team in the country has more turnovers this season than CSUs 16 10 lost fumbles and six interceptions, so if the Rams can limit the turnovers I think they will beat New Mexico by double digits. This pick is more of a fade of a bad Lobos team that has one of the worst offenses in the country. CSU is better on both sides of the ball and should cruise to a win here if they can limit their turnovers.
