Tampa Bay showed great heart in turning back a determined Cheatstros team. They are not to be underestimated. Dodgers showed similar heart. Fried and Anderson did not pitch badly in Games 6 and 7, the Dodgers simply exerted their will. This looks like a great series, I've got Dodgers in 6.
Clayton Kershaw's playoff stats, explained: Why does the Dodgers great struggle in the postseason? | Sporting NewsClayton Kershaw has been a much worse pitcher in the playoffs than the regular season throughout his career. For the Dodgers great, there's not one explanation for his struggles. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/clayton-kershaw-playoff-stats-dodgers-postseason/1wmsp5pmp2jl1vkifs9x4xx25
I have a hard time seeing the dodgers losing this series. Tampa may have the advantage when it comes to bullpens (although not by much), but the dodgers lineup will work the rays starters into high pitch counts early (something that several rays starters struggle with). The longer the series goes, the more likely that Tampas bullpen will eventually crack.
World Series 2020: Prediction, keys for Rays, Dodgers in best-of-seven series | Sporting NewsNobody really has any idea whats going to happen between the Rays and Dodgers, but here are a few things to keep in mind as the Fall Classic gets underway. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/2020-world-series-prediction-keys-for-rays-dodgers-in-best-of-seven-series/1x4sojo1gr3ur1h40y3d6uvu1w
Tyler Glasnow gets the nod in game one for Tampa tonight. He's 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA this postseason coming off his six-inning, four-run outing against the Astros in Game 4 of the ALCS. His 25 strikeouts are fourth-most in the 2020 playoffs.
Clayton Kershaw will make the fifth World Series start of his career and sixth appearance. He is 1-2 in the Fall Classic with a 5.40 ERA in 26 2/3 innings. In his Game 4 start of the NLCS against the Braves, Kershaw allowed four runs on seven hits in five-plus frames.
I'm not as bullish on Kershaw right now and question the troubles he's having with his back as ATL got to him a couple of times in the last series. Vegas sure likes this Dodgers team and keeps over valuing them in each series, you have to take Tampa here as a value bet and will hedge with a little on the OVER 7.5 here tonight.
