Strasburg has been getting hit pretty hard in the playoffs and is 1-2 in the postseason. He's given up 5 HRs in the last 3 games and based off the sample size we got from an underrated NATS lineup handling of the most dominant pitcher in baseball, I think they hit Verlander without a ton of issues. I like the OVER in this one. Look for PROP BETS on Asdrubel Cabrera Total Bases - he's got 9 career XBH's off Verlander to go with 8 walks and a .276 BA AVG in 76 plate appearances. If the Astros are to win, they'll need the bats to come alive throughout the lineup. That will be tough against Strasburg who is a big time postseason stud on the mound posting a 1.10 ERA.

      $100 Washington +160 & $250 Over 7

As great as Verlander has been for the Astros all season, he hasnt been nearly as dominant in the postseason. He has given up four runs a piece in two of his last three outings. Now, hell be stepping on the mound against the hottest lineup in baseball and forced to match the same defensive intensity as a Nationals rotation being led by Strasburg, who is ever bit as dangerous as Verlander. While this is a must win for Houston, I don't think you can justify -180 odds here. I'm drinking the Kool Aid and riding the Nationals here at +165 odds in game 2. And will hedge my bet with something small on the UNDER 7.5 here.

          $100 Washington +164 & $100 Under 7.5

The OVER has hit a lot lately when the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals match up, including the first game of the World Series, which featured Gerrit Cole and Max Scherzer. Will it happen again in Game 2, when Stephen Strasburg and Justin Verlander take the mound?. Original matchup: http://bit.ly/2MArZWx

Fansided: World Series Game 2 Preview: Astros Verlander vs Nationals Strasburg

All is not lost, Astros fans. Yes, the formerly red-hot Gerrit Cole cooled off as the team fell in World Series Game One, but there's a lot of baseball left to be played. Tonight's game will be pivotal as the team sends Justin Verlander to the hill to face off against the Nationals' Stephen Strasburg. They'll look to salvage a split against the Nationals before heading to Washington for the next three games. There's plenty of intrigue in this match-up, as it features another pair of dominant pitchers who have the capacity to take over any game.

Federal Baseball: Washington Nationals' lineup for Game 2 of the World Series with the Houston Astros...

Houston Astros' starter Justin Verlander talked before Game 1 of the World Series about the lineup he'd be facing in Game 2 with the National League Champion Washington Nationals.Verlander, 36, finished his 15th big league campaign (21-6) overall in 34 starts, with the 4th-lowest ERA (2.58) in the majors, the most innings pitched (223), the second-most strikeouts (300), lowest BAA (.172), and the lowest WHIP (0.80) among qualified starters.

He threw seven scoreless innings in his first postseason start this month, but the Astros' veteran starter had a 5.
